Record Number of Comics Ordered for ‘Free Comic Book Day’

This year’s annual comic book giveaway looks to be heading for new records, as organisers have revealed that there have been more than 4.6 million copies ordered in advance of Free Comic Book Day. Orders are up almost 32% from last year when only 3.5 million orders were received.

What’s that you say? You don’t know what's going on?!?

Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE to anyone who comes into their stores.

The participating independent comic book shops and specialty stores span some 46 countries and will be giving away 53 titles ranging from DC, 2000 AD, Marvel, Dark Horse and many more.

I don’t know about you, but free comics? I’m putting the 4th of May in my diary…

You can find out more at the Free Comic Book Day website.
