Porn Does Pay - If You Work For Random House, Anyway

Random House gives employees 5k Bonus

It’s nice to hear some good news from the publishing industry for a change. Random House, publishers of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey series is making their employees a bit happier this Christmas -- they’re sharing the wealth by giving all of their people a $5,000 bonus!

As the book has sold more than 35 million copies in the U.S. alone, that’s a significant return on an investment in my book. The first book in the series has spent the last 37 weeks at number one on the New York Times paperback best-seller list, and it’s showing little sign of dropping off the top spot.

With the success of other Random House titles including Wild by Cheryl Strayed, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, and John Grisham’s latest, it’s been a great year for the company. Chief executive Markus Dohle announced the news at the company’s Christmas party Wednesday night.

Markus Dohle, the chief executive of Random House, promised employees — from top editors to warehouse workers — a $5,000 bonus to celebrate a profitable year. The cheering went on for minutes, according to people in attendance.

The bonus will appear in employees’ next paychecks and will cover everyone “from top editors to warehouse workers”, which should make a lot of people very happy!

Now, how can I get my publisher to give me a bonus like that?

Well, kudos to them. To date I have never received any sort of bonus from any employer I've worked for.

I gave out two bonuses to one former employee, one before the busiest season, and another after the holidays. In the end, it was too expensive, and I can't ever do it again. Gotta be miserly even more, now that the taxes are supposedly going up for everyone? That's the rumor I hear.

I guess, all employees deserves to receive any bonuses from their respective company. A reward is given to their hard work and even to the sucess of the business. -cebu resorts
