The Arrest Us! Submission Window Is Closed—But The Reading Period Continues...
The submission window for Arrest Us! is officially closed.
And damn, did you folks deliver. In total, 154 stories were submitted to our crime fiction writing challenge over the course of June.
That doesn't mean the fun is done. For the rest of the month, the reading window will remain open—you are welcome to read and rate as many stories as your delicate sensibilities can handle.
Because this isn't just about winning prizes. This is about writing good words, and encouraging each other, and learning to be better writers...
But also, yeah, there are prizes. To recap:
Grand Prize: Publication in Thuglit!
Todd Robinson will pick three of the top rated stories to run in a future issue of Thuglit!
Writer prize packs!
Hilary Davidson, James Grady, Charles Ardai, Bryon Quertermous, and Chris F. Holm will each critique a story! Details here.
Reader prize packs!
We want to reward the people who read and rate stories too. Mulholland, Broken River, Hard Case Crime, and MysteriousPress.com will each donate a grab-bags of books. The four most prolific raters will get a selection of books, picked at random, by one of these excellent publishers of crime fiction!
The last day to read and rate stories is July 31.
There are a lot of stories that were just submitted and haven't even been read yet. Let's change that.
