Oh what a wonderful comfort to find a place where so many other procrastinating writers have gathered! Personally I have been procrastinating taking my writing seriously since the third grade when Katie Keeley's narative piece on a camping trip was picked over my fiction piece about a mouse was chosen for the "Young Author's Day' commerative journal. I had convinced my self at the ripe old age of nine that I was a hack and have been fighting that demon ever since.
In all seriousness this is such a wonderful site! I have been poking around here for a while and I am so impressed and encouraged by the members, articles and activities. I may infact actually be a hack, but at least I feel less alone!
Welcome, Courtney, to the wonderful world of LitReactor. Browse around, leave some comments. Have you joined the writer's workshop? The essay's and articles alone are worth the price of admission.
Welcome, you will soon come to learn that we are all clinically insane but in a good way!
I think insanity is a prerequisite of being a writer...
It's not. I'm normal.
Keep telling yourself that...
Hi Courtney. Hope you like it here. Stick around. R.Moon is correct, some of the essays and magazine articles are excellent.
And what's wrong with being a hack? All the best authors are hacks!
Everyday I want to hack... my keyboard into a million pieces... lol
The Lit has you now. Welcome.
Welcome to the site! I hope you enjoy it. We always need more women.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys! It's nice being around other "insane" people although the Drs say I'm fit for society now. Har har har.
And yes I have forked over the dough and joined proper! I figure I could spend the $9 on actually working on my craft rather that the $9 I'd spend on expensive coffee's in a shop daydreaming about actually writing!

- Well spent! Looking forward to reading your work.
I usually get inspired by the coffeeshop I go to, lots of weirdos go there. So far I had a homeless guy staring at me, met a schizo, saw a guy arguing with himself and lots of trannies.
I look forward to your work.
What do you write about?
Hi Courtney, I just found this place a few days ago. I find the info great, And everybody is fun.
Utah likes a bit of a ruckus though ;)
Conflict is the substance of existence. You should all embrace it.
Spoken like a true American :p Republican by chance? <-- kidding, dont care.
Welcome Courtney! I too became a hack @ age 10. My 13-year-old sister stole a story I wrote for a children's summer fiction program at the local library. She mocked it and the idea of me writing. Devestating. Ever since then, everything I've learned and read about the importance of siblings over any other peers in child development seems to ring true (Born To Rebel by Frank J. Sulloway; Sibling Relationships: Theory and Issues for Practice by Robert Sanders; etc.).
I'm not bitter...
Always nice to have new people to chat with. I'm just here for the free booze.
