If you enjoy the type of non-traditional fiction Blake Butler produces, I'm assuming you are already aware of his existence. If you enjoy but are not yet aware, you are in for a treat. Maddeningly surreal at the level of the sentence, Blake's work reveals itself from afar, coming alive when taken as a whole. His manipulation of language is a thing of wonder, and the emotions it inspires are more akin to what a person feels while listening to an intricate piece of music as opposed to reading a book.

Photo courtesy of Andrew J. Wilt Before I ran a small press of my own I was a fan of small presses. The first one I fell in love was Akashic Books. I remember going to a party during Brooklyn Book Festival weekend and realizing you could write and publish books outside of corporate publishing. My reading habits became more diverse and I ended up starting CLASH Books with my wife. I've seen a lot of micro and small presses come and go.

Photo courtesy of Marston Hefner Last year I went to Denver to help host a couple readings that featured some writers CLASH Books had published. He really stood out with a unique literary style. It was an amazing reading, and that weekend this writer and got to talk about our love of writing.

Panowich’s latest offering sets readers back in familiar McFalls County, but pairs Dane Kirby with Special Agent Roselita Velasquez as they follow the twisted trail of a murderer on a hunt of his own.

Chuck Palahniuk hardly needs an introduction, especially at LitReactor. It’s no surprise to be getting a new book from Palahniuk—he typically releases one per year—but his new book, Consider This, marks the first time since 2004’s Stranger Than Fiction that Chuck has published a work of non-fiction. Consider This is a remarkable combination of writing advice, wisdom, and snapshots of America as seen through the readers Chuck has met while touring the country.
