Warmed and bound? Am I missing something here? Can you fill me in briefly on what "warmed and bound" is?

I know that I link them alot, but I love what the Booked guys did with Warmed and Bound. For a ton of intereviews with the authors, and a review of the book, check it out.

Booked's support was amazing. Amazeballs, or whatever the hep cats are saying these days. We even transcribed several of those interviews and included them in the Kindle edition (all the individual episodes were linked by author as well). I'm way biased, because I have a story in there and helped out behind the scenes, but it's got a killer balance of established and emerging authors, and so many people have told me the stories they dug the most came from unexpected sources. Hell, we got Steve Erickson to do the foreword.

So, Clev has been sleeping with the W&B World Tour book for awhile. Thank god I equipped it with a tiny camera to record all the antics.

I believe, however that it is now going south to...

Chester, let's see, who's south . . . JR Harlan, maybe? Bob Pastorella? Gavin Pate?

Yeah Gordon, that vid is sweet. Shit people, if you have not got a hold of this and wondering what the hell we are talking about--do it.

It is a very diverse and surprising collection. And fun. Really unpredictable and a lot of these guys (and handful of gals) names are going to be big.

I think there are 3 girls - Pela, Amanda, and Gayle. The girls, their stories fit right into the collection nicely too. It is a shame that Pela couldn't get more girls into the book.

Chester Pane's picture

Yeah, Pela did an exceptional job of editing. And I think you're right Pete, there was Pela's sad piece, Gayle's AMAZING flash piece and Amanda's puzzly, lyrical enigmatic piece. But it would have been nice to have more female voices.

Warmed and Bound is probably my favorite collection of ficiton from different authors.  Every story is either good or great.

Chester Pane's picture

Chester, can you tell us what you're talking about?

-I don't know what I am talking about most of the time, so how could I tell you? He-he.

But I will try. It is the Warmed and Bound World Tour. A book with legs that goes out partying with every single one of the Warmed and Bound authors.

Sometimes it parties in groups. Richard Thomas said it made out with Donald Ray Pollock and his ink squirted on it.

Gordon and Brandon partied with it then Brandon Tietz took it back to his apartment and rumor has it, he slept with it. I don't know if any of this is true, it is just what the book tells me when it calls home. Its speech is usually so slurred I can hardly make out what its saying. Here is a picture of W&B taking a nap at Brandons:

I have some more pics I will pull out of the coffer. I think everyone who has slept with it took some too, plus, like I said, it is equipped with its own micro cam.

Amanda Gowin thought that was kinda creepy.

Yummy.

Well, I think Richard, Caleb, Chris D., Gordon and Brandon T. might have had something to do with that. At least according to W&B's last call home. Well, that and the video.

I seem to recall having ordered a pizza that night. Perhaps having a cigar. So maybe it was just ashy tomato sauce. But wouldn't be a bad idea to run the fluoroscope over it anyway.

Chester Pane's picture

Hell yes Richard.

And the book is telling me all kinds of stories.

It had to come home. It kept calling me telling me it was having way to good of a time. It requested rehab.

I gave it a drink. It decided rehab could wait.

I was surprised at what good shape it's in after all of the insane parties.

And who is responsible for christening it with "World Tour?" That person gets special treatment.

Gordon, I smelled your pages. Cigar, Pizza and....

You guys rock.

So W&B is going to catch up on some much needed zzz's. It is going to need some energy for SGJ at Powell's. Its skin is going to get inked up that evening.
