The Associated Press Releases Book Series

eBook developer Mango Media has joined forces with the Associated Press in order to debut AP Editions, reports Publishers Weekly. The series will appear in both eBook and print, with content founded on the Associated Press’ reporting and historical archives.

The Associated Press itself was first founded in the 19th century as an “international news cooperative.” Featuring prose reports alongside photographic documentation from reporters across the globe, the titles will pull material from archives.

“AP Reporters and photographers have spent nearly 170 years in all quarters of the globe, telling the most important stories of their time,” said Associated Press director of content development Sarah Nordgren. “By teaming up with Mango, AP has the opportunity to bring those stories once again to light, with the added perspective of history.”

AP Editions will at first issue 15 books, but eventually plans on publishing more in the future. Some of the featured titles include Ebola: From Outbreak to Crisis to Containment, The Hubble Space Telescope: A Universe of New Discovery, and Pope Francis: Transforming the Catholic Church.

I’m interested in seeing how they pull all their material into one unified source. Will anybody else be reading?
