Random House Launches Three New Digital Imprints, Accepting Submissions
Random House is moving firmly into the digital age with an expansion of its digital publishing program to include three new imprints, while expanding the ‘reach’ of a fourth imprint they already have in place.
Along with the existing Loveswept imprint, their digital romance line, Random House is launching Flirt, aimed at a YA/New Adult audience; Hydra, for science fiction; and Alibi, for mystery/thrillers.
'As publishing continues to evolve, with more authors finding their first home in digital, our challenge is to create new ways for readers to discover books,' Wachtel said, 'This dedicated team understands both the content and medium, and can effectively break out authors in the digital space.'
The new digital group will be overseen by Gina Wachtel, Vice President for publishing, with editors assigned to oversee each line. The team expects the first titles to be released in the early part of 2013, featuring new and original work.
Well, it’ll be interesting to see what comes out of this and how it affects new authors - more channels always means more opportunities for authors to get their work out there. What do you think?
You can find more information about submitting to these imprints on their website.
