Artistic mediums can often combine and create wonderful things. Artist Kelli Anderson, in fact, is demonstrating this phenomenon firsthand through the publication of This Book is a Camera, reports PetaPixel.

As you may have guessed from the title, Anderson’s pop-up book features an actual working camera within its pages. Also included are user instructions and a pack of Ilford photo paper.

The book’s content focuses on how a camera can use light to produce a photograph, and with its innovative pop-up provides a hands-on way of witnessing that core concept. “I wanted to make a working camera within an educational pop-up book—one that connects the dots between design and science/structure and function,” Anderson stated.

This Book is a Camera is self-published, priced at $29, and available for purchase through Anderson’s website. Visit the original article for a nifty video of how the whole project came together.
