NaNoWriMo Receives $10K Grant from Pubslush Foundation

Many of those in the writing community recognize NaNoWriMo as a brilliant organization aimed at encouraging us all to do the one thing we do best: write! That’s why a recent $10K donation from Pubslush Foundation means so much to the organization and its followers.
Grant Faulkner, Executive Director of NaNoWriMo, made a statement upon hearing the wonderful news that aired in a recent article from GalleyCat:
We’re thrilled to receive such generous support from Pubslush. We believe that everyone has a story to tell, and that everyone’s story matters. This grant will help fuel NaNoWriMo’s creative revolution so that more people can realize themselves as creators.
The prize money will go toward funding future literacy initiatives like NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program. Pubslush authors are behind the donation, having sacrificed a percentage of their campaign budgets to fund the award.
For those of you out there who aren’t familiar with NaNoWriMo (otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month), the organization focuses on managing events that help adults and children alike find inspiration through writing. Perhaps the most well known endeavor NaNoWriMo undertakes occurs in November, when thousands of writers all over the world band together and attempt to write 50,000 words each in only one month’s time. This news has me gearing up already for November! Is anyone else going to participate in the next NaNoWriMo challenge?
