LitReactor Does DC—Where You Can Find Us At AWP
AWP is nearly upon us! This year the Association of Writers & Writing Programs conference is taking place in Washington, D.C., a city free from strife and controversy.
LOL JK the US government is currently a raging porta-potty fire. There's even a protest scheduled. Expect a lot of passionate defenses about the importance of art, as well as clever, properly-punctuated signs. Woo!
Resistance doesn't mean we can't have some fun. As usual, LitReactor will be there. In attendance will be:
- Kirk Clawes, LitReactor's co-founder and technical lead
- Leah Rhyne, columnist and author of Heartless
- Brandon Tietz, columnist and author of Good Sex, Great Prayers
- Rob Hart, class director and author of New Yorked (a.k.a. me)
We're a friendly bunch and you should come say hello. Talk books, talk publishing, play tag, whatever. We'll be at table 247-T. We're going to have some swag. Cool swag. Swag you'll want. And our resident writers—Leah, Brandon, and I—may have books to sell, or give away, or give out as rewards for feats of strength.
Also, worth mentioning (he said shamelessly) is that I'll be reading at Cold, Dark Flash, hosted by SmokeLong Quarterly and D.C.’s Noir at the Bar. That's Saturday at The Pub and the People at 7 p.m. More info here. It's a killer lineup and I'm reading something pretty depraved so it ought to be a good time.
There we go, kiddos. The festivities kick off Thursday. See you in the swamp.
