Keith Rosson's Novel, "Road Seven", To Be Published By Meerkat Press

Tricia Reeks, publisher at Meerkat Press, has announced the acquisition of North American English language rights to Keith Rosson’s newest novel, Road Seven, which will be released in 2020.

Road Seven follows disgraced cryptozoologist Mark Sandoval—resolutely arrogant, covered head to foot in precise geometric scarring, and still marginally famous after Hollywood made an Oscar-winner based off his memoir years before—who has been strongly advised by his lawyer to leave the country following a drunken and potentially fatal hit and run. When a woman sends Sandoval grainy footage of what appears to be a unicorn, he quickly hires an assistant and the two head off to the woman's farm in Hvíldarland, a tiny, remote island off the coast of Iceland. When they arrive on the island and discover that both a military base and the surrounding álagablettur, the nearby woods, are teeming with strangeness and secrets, they begin to realize that a supposed unicorn sighting is the least of their worries. Road Seven will mark the third of Rosson’s novels to be published by Meerkat Press.

“We continue to be blown away by Keith’s boundless talent and imagination and are thrilled to be publishing his next book,” said Reeks.

“I’m honored to be doing another book with Meerkat,” said Rosson. “Road Seven sits soundly couched in that spot where literary and genre fiction meet, and Meerkat knows how to tackle a book like that. They’ve proven again and again that they’re fierce advocates for their books and their authors, and I’m thrilled that we’ll be bringing this novel out into the world.”

Keith Rosson is the author of the novels Smoke City (2018) and The Mercy of the Tide (2017), which was on the preliminary ballot for the Bram Stoker Award and optioned for film by an executive producer of Game of Thrones. His short fiction has appeared in Cream City Review, PANKDecember, The Nervous Breakdown, and more, and has been short- or longlisted for the Birdwhistle Prize for Short Fiction and the New American Fiction Prize. He is also a legally blind illustrator and graphic designer, with clients that include Green Day, Against Me, Warner Bros., and more.

As noted, the national party wanted to change the law to stop immigration to Latvia by individuals obtaining residence permits through real estate, before 2014, and instead focus efforts on assistance for Latvian families and care for new mothers. The leading party, Vienotība (Unity) disagreed with the national party's plan to stop the residence permit program, but instead proposed to double the amount of investment required for the real estate program, put in force a quota system, in addition to introducing a special donation fund.
