Brother, Can You Spare A Dime? Specifically For A Craig Clevenger Film Project
Craig Clevenger and Six Finger Films are seeking donations on Kickstarter to produce a short film, Smoke and Mirrors. It's based on a chapter from Clevenger's next book.
Do I even need to tell you why you need to help fund this?
This short film is just one chapter from a novel by Craig Clevenger, a core sample bored from somewhere halfway between “once upon a time” and “happily every after.” It’s your basic boy meets girl story only without the romance or the girl. More like your basic unlicensed medic meets escaped psych patient who claims to be an angel in an abandoned subterranean surgical theater following a massive earthquake kind of story.
In order to be funded, Smoke and Mirrors needs $15,000 pledged by March 31.
And there is some very cool swag up for dibs. Like, if you pledge $25 or more, you get a DVD of the film. Pledge $100 or more, and get a paperback book signed by Craig Clevenger and a six-fingered hand wire necklace, hand-crafted in Bolivia. Put in $1,000 or better, and you get a signed, completed copy of Clevenger's book before it's published (and you damn well better believe I considered this).
The visual style on display is gorgeous, and seems like it would be a perfect fit for Clevenger's work. This'll be something to see--if the project gets funded. Click here to give them money. And also to watch a video and learn about the project and find out what other incentives are up for grabs.
