BBC Unveils New Jane Austen Facebook Game

Jane Austen Facebook Game

In the BBC's new Jane Austen Facebook game, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet have escaped from the pages of Pride And Prejudice (no doubt seduced into the magical modern world by robot puppies, water-bottle bidets, and live feeds of the Big Brother house). It is your job to persuade them to return to Facebook-less world by finding objects hidden in scenes from Austen's novels and completing spot-the-difference challenges.

You're probably asking, "Wait, how is clicking a banana hidden in a scene from Sense And Sensibility going to convince Elizabeth and Darcy to get back into the book?" And to that I say, "How about you spend less time asking obvious questions and more time helping poor Jane Austen wrangle her characters?" The game, Jane Austen: Rogues & Romance, is free to play but, like many Facebook games, will try to bait you into purchasing additional items with real money.

Anybody going to give it a try?
