‘Ace Ventura’ Star To Write and Self-Publish Kid’s Book

Jim Carrey’s known for his films — he’s been in a lot of them, after all. But he recently revealed in an interview that he’s planning to self-publish what he calls a “metaphysical children’s book” called How Roland Rolls, “telling the story of a little wave named Roland” and it will be “beautifully-illustrated”.
Planned for a September release, Carrey explained his plans to go the DIY route: “I’m going to self-publish, because that’s just the world right now and I think it’s cool…”
Having recently had a solo exhibition of his paintings and after a recent musical collaboration with The Eels (he’s only recorded an anti-gun single called “Cold Dead Hand," — "Charlton Heston would not like it," he commented), Carrey told Yahoo News that he was writing the book for his two-year-old grandson.
"Sometimes when you go to a movie, that can be that. But when you read your kid a story, that is just a little slice of heaven," he said.
Is this just the latest project from a bored actor? Or do you think it’ll have kids lining up around the block to hear Carrey read it?

He has the money and the exposure to self-publish. I'd love to know who is going to illustrate it.
Good luck to him, I hope it sells well.
