No, we are saying get in or get out; but stop standing there muttering creepily to yourself about things we said to other people in line.

i think it's time to drop this whole thing...there are great stories to read over in the WAR polls, other great topics to converse civilly about, questions to help others with, questions to ask more seasoned writers, etc...
let's face it, this group is a bunch of adults who like to create imaginary places and imaginary people in their minds, then write out their stories for others to read. There's no cliques, there's no "newbies," there's no one here better or worse than anyone else. We're all just nerds who enjoy/need to write, and we're here to help each other.
blah blah blah peace, love, and understanding blah blah blah

If I was after a villain I would get him to watch the wrong person then let him regret the error of his ways for a short time before deep frying. A fitting end for a cannibal don't you think?

I'm of the Hulk school of tactics. I'm not a 100% sure what your plan is, but I bet it doesn't include me breaking all your stuff. Or wearing purple pants.

I can't stop laughing. I think I've read this twice, now.
I think I might've piddled on myself a little.
Since I decided to be a professional dominatrix in order to get Christmas presents, SOMEBODY CLEAN THAT SHIT UP. AND BUY ME OUTDATED COLLEGIATE TEXTBOOKS THAT I'LL NEVER READ, BUT WILL LOOK REALLY NICE ON MY SHELF AND MAKE ME LOOK SMART.
Oh ye of way too much faith in your smote avoidance.
I read everything you say in the voice I assume you'd use while making the facial expression in your icon.

When in Rome:
Can we dial down the nationalism on display here?
Canada, the US, the UK...they're each incredibly fractionalized nations with diverse populations comprised of specific regionalisms - ideologies and sensibilities that run the gamut. You could come from any small town in any one of those countries, walk into the next town over in the same county, province, state and be ridiculed for not understanding "the way things are done" there.
'Scary Movie' accounts for "American humor"? The most popular American television shows are seen by roughly one out of every six Americans each week. God knows what the other five are doing, but chances are none of it's alike.
Lastly, fport, there's a reason why people serious about their poker know better than to play it for free.

Uhm, no. Where else can you practice dialoguing and POV with a strong emotional content that is not an actual flamewar but a bunch of wordsmiths honing their arts all in good fun?

I think that is a description of the whole world. Yet old men with lots of money still get people to wander over to the next country and shoot ordinary people or steal their resources. Ever been on a strata council? This is fine grain down to neighbours in the same housing block. I look to advances in neuroscience to explain these things more clearly

You forgot to add the "IMHO" to this, I do have an agenda and it is a concious thing that is well planned - thank you for playing. I look forward to your continued pithy observations which if I didn't know better would look like trolling instead of joining in. If we substitute 'writing', 'plotting' or 'editing' in place of 'poker' that becomes a very powerful hook for further conversation.
