Hi everyone.
I'm weighing many metropolis for the novel i am writing and i thought about Paris too.
The novel is about a kleptomaniac guy wanted for almost killing a clerk in a silly theft. He then crosses his path with a homeless writer when he steals and loses the novel he had finally finished.
I was wondering if something like that could happen in a city like Paris.
Did someone of you live there? I'd gladly talk about the city to gather as much information as possible.
I guess something like that could happen anywhere.
Why the fixation with writing about a city in which you have no experience?
I think your story would benefit from somewhere you've been. You can nail the smells and sounds and give the reader a really clear picture.
First of all, anything can happen anywhere. Don't be one of those people standing around a trailer park with hot rollers in your hair after a twister levels the place going, "I cain't believe it happened to us,"
I have spent enough time in Paris to answer any specific questions you might have - out of all the cities you could pick, there is more written, photographed, and filmed about that place than almost anywhere else on the planet. Should be easy peasy.
