This is for anyone who wants to say: "HEY! Look at my submission in workshop please!" New folks and lurkers don't be shy!~
There has been a noticeable decrease in reviews. If we all commit to at least one or two a day, everyone should have enough reviews. (Don't review just your friends either). This way even the new folks get attention.
How it works:
Post your submission. Let it sit a day or so. If you don't get anything, or if you need more help, post here.
Give us:
- Title
- Word count
- Genre/style
- Special notes
I'll bump this once a week with any reviews listed that don't have anything.
Here's a random one: Can you review your Thunderdome Opponent's submission? Or is that an unspoken taboo?
I almost always LBL my competitors story.
I was on the fence about it. I looked over it, of course, but I wasn't sure if there was a rule (spoken or unspoken) about whether or not to critique it. On one hand, it seems a bit rude, or has the potential to be percieved as such. On the other hand, if done properly, feedback is feedback. I guess it would depend on the people involved. Personally, I think I'll abstain until I get to know the folks better. Less of a chance of someone taking something the wrong way.
My story "airplane" from the WAR thread is up over there. I'm trying to sell it to a print, contest, or anthology or something. It's short, 1,130 words. Thanks for helping a brotha out.
BAM!
The fuck was that?! Panda, I think Emeril Lagasse has just hacked your account!
It's my version of bump.
I'm doing one right now.
Matt, thanks for starting this thread and keeping it going. When it comes down to it, WAR is fun and everything. I started that so that everybody would have an excuse to keep writing, and to maybe break everybody out of their comfort zone a bit. Broaden the creativity spectrum a tad.
But when it comes down to it, the workshop is the centerpiece of what LitReactor has to offer. It's why I'm here, and I think a lot of others. We ignore it to our detriment. So even though we're all having a bunch of fun over on the battlefield, let's rally a bit and re-emphasize the reason we're (mostly) all here.
Good job, Mr. Attack!
And they say meth isnt' bad! P'sha!
That it is.
Thanks you sexy beasts for the LBL's and comments. I approve of this thread.
Good idea M.A.
I thought of a potential Workshop incentive that might be implemented.
If someone does a given number of reviews in a given number of days, say a week for example, then they automatically get bonus points.
"I WANT A MUG!"
You won't get one.
Here Matt:
Consolation Mug. Good job getting in the top ten. That probably means I got bumped down. Fuck, when I finish all this shit, I am going on a Workshop bender.
@Rachel: That's because most of us are at work right now
Rachel - I have yours downloaded. I'm just having trouble getting my shit together today. I'll try.
how do you win one of those cool Lit Reactor mugs?
I'm going on a reviewing rampage tomorrow because I'm too tired tonight. If anyone wants me to review them, send me a PM or let me know here. I'm willing to review anything.
And of course I have my own whoring to do:
Sacrifice
1,800 words
Literary
Thunderdome entry -- I don't need much help on my other battle because I got some great tips on how to work on it, but this one is really rough. I could really use some notes on characterization and plot.
Mr. Popular here.
I will try to be more proactive about reviewing thy works, mine friends.
Hope the Easter Bunny brought you all the eggs you wanted.
Hahahaha. I just heard that song the other day.
Mr. Popular™
When I was in...I think about 7th grade, I thought that song was really cool.
@matt
I'm hitting up a couple reviews tomorrow. I'll be sure to go over your piece.
I'll be sure to go over your piece.
I knew you guys had been getting close and all but...
Well hey, you know what, I'm all about pumping the positive! And this kind of thing is positive! Unless, of course, Grigori has Matt chained up in his basement. That could be going a step too far in some ways of thinking. But I'll go 60/40 that's not what's going on here.
Utah must be very busy indeed if he's recruiting help. Busy hunting that new one.

Such a naughty boy!
I'd fuck me.
I'd fuck me.
No, you wouldn't.
