It was six months ago, at the end of the Teleport Us contest here at Litreactor. Writing was at the forefront of my mind to say the least. I was at a client meeting and could not really believe what I had just heard the client say.

‘As you know, we’re looking for someone to head up our marketing department’. I was at Plotagon, a Stockholm startup I’d recently gotten to know as a good friend of mine let me have a look at a working prototype of the software they were developing. Seeing it for the first time, it literally gave me chills. I love gadgets, technology is one of my top interests. But i also love writing. Here was an application designed to let anyone begin with a blank page, write a script in glorious Courier, and then simply press play to have a movie.

I jumped on the chance to join the team. This was a company I wanted to be a part of. I wanted to see what happened when you put the ability to create in a new medium in the hands of creative people who may have never even dreamed they could make a movie. I was in no small way inspired by the community here at LitReactor, with the diverse backgrounds of the writers in terms of age, background and skills but with the common passion for storytelling.

For six months, now, I’ve been working at this small startup, helping defining what was then just an early prototype into a fully functional, published application. We’re still exploring whom this application would appeal to most.

I believe authors like yourself will, as I have, find the framework of Plotagon inspiring rather than constricting. I’ve heard many say that it is fun. I think it is inspiring. I think that with people who have a literary ambition there is really no limit for how far Plotagon can go.

Around the corner are new worlds and new actors for Plotagon. You’ll be able to create surrealist stories based on the characters of Lewis Carroll. Or take the world of Jane Austen to a whole new place.

If you would like to try Plotagon out, give me a direct message and I will set you up with a copy. I would truly love to see what the members of LitReactor can do with my Magical Typewriter.
