When I came across an article in which Chuck Palahniuk commented on Craig Clevenger's novel The Contortionist's Handbook as "...the best book I have read in easily five years. Easily. Maybe ten years." I was compelled to find it. To Barnes and Noble to Bookmans to Half-Priced Books to the other Barnes and Noble, I drove. No luck. Not only did I not find the novel I was seeking, but I found no works by Clevenger at all. However, I did find a section of the bookstore reserved solely for Supernatural Teenage Romance.... but I digress. I just find it curious that this novel, nor its author, can be found anywhere in what was named the 'fastest growing city in America'. I am aware I could obviously find the book online in my sleep, as well as a library, but now I feel I am on a mission. I'll let you know if Clevenger shows up in AZ.
Try the independent book stores. Or you could order it on Amazon.
I lived in Phoenix and dated a girl from Gilbert. Didn't read that you were from Arizona. Yeah just lots of desert haha. Maybe make a trip up to Flagstaff.
I got my copy from Amazon years ago. It's worth the investment. You should also get Dermaphoria while you're at it.
I mean it is only $10 on amazon...
I can't wait for his third novel to be released. Is there any signed copies floating around on the internet that I could buy of Handbook?
I've seen a few floating around in the past on ebay and amazon.
Somebody at the cult once bought one for like a couple bucks at a garage sale.
