I discovered this gem today on Facebook, and I am quite intriqued.
I have a lot of faith in this moment that this site may help me to stop throwing away drafts of my writing and start, oh, I don't know...editing, improving, and, dare I say it...publishing.
Help me keep the faith, friend me, discuss with me, show me around.
Nice to have you.
Cheers for the optimism :)
I'm newly discovering this site too and its wealth of information. Keep writing.
We are starting to have writing competitions in one of the threads here and the winner has to buy the other person a book of their choice. To me competitions and deadlines motivate me. The key is to not get your feelings hurt if you get a harsh review. Although some people on here as with all academic endeavors really think they are top dog and know everything about writing. Don't let one person's over-criticism get you down but focus on all the people who give constructive criticism. After all for every insecure writer, there are about a dozen people who think they are writing the next world's masterpiece.
Try out the intensives. Join the workshop. Post in the Pointless Announcements thread.
Welcome. This place is phenomenal. Nothing has helped my writing more than posting it in the workshop and letting these literary jackals (said lovingly) tear the hell out of it. Don't be afraid to dive in head first.
I discovered this site through Chuck Palahniuk's post on Facebook. It's real cool. Thanks Chuck!
Yeah I discovered this through Chuck Palahniuk's Twitter feed. If you haven't started reading his craft essays I would suggest it. I've read the first three and they are amazing.
Great to see so many people joining up to the site all the time. Every time I log in the activity list shows a welcome message to at least one new member.
The Litreactor 'powers-that-be' must be loving it. And rightly so.
Welcome to all the new members.
