I hate Halloween. There is absolutely nothing I like about it; which is quite sad because it was my favorite holiday as a child. But now...I fucking can't stand it.

^^^^ This is exactly how I feel. I don't even feel like passing candy I'm given a full bowl of candy to give away but I'm too lazy and it's my fucking candy, piss off kid.
So I put the "Sorry, out trick or treating" sign and nobody knocks.
To finally enjoying my evening in peace.

Ha! Nice. There's multiple reasons I don't care for Halloween, the main one being it turned into slut day where I have to dodge drunk people while I'm driving home from work. Also I had a horrible experience in a haunted house: a vampire flashed strobes right in my face and gave me a seizure. To me Halloween is just the day I was diagnosed with epilepsy...yay!

I don't need a costume now to scare people. I can do that with a few twisted words.  I used to do that with two words: "You're fired."

Halloween is for kids and witches as far as I am concerned. For adults, it seems to be just another excuse to get drunk and if you need an excuse, you are an alcoholic in denial. Take a drink because it is Tuesday or because you want to!

I'm too introverted to enjoy parties. I've never met a good writer who was a true extrovert. An extrovert couldn't stand locking himself or herself in a room for months at a time.

I was an actor so putting on a costume and assuming a role is not a one day a year enterprise for me. My cure for shyness was to become someone else whose existence was scripted and if I was rejected, I knew about it in advance because it was written into the script.

Kids can't trust trick or treating any more. There is always the looney toon wearing an aluminum foil cap to keep out the voices who may have injected the Reese's Peanut Butter cup with muriatic acid so that when the kid injests the little trifle, it will burn through his stomach and come out through his spine.

Have a happy All Hallows Eve.

I'm going to sit in and watch yaoi and do homework, because I'm costume-less and uninterested. What's more, close people are ignoring me.

wow - you guys should come around here for Halloween - it's awesomeness - big silly dress-up parties. I went as tyrone slothrop from gravity's rainbow (should have won the obscurest costume prize) and ran around playing a kazoo and yelling "Ficht nicht mit dem Raketemensch!"

It's becoming a bigger and bigger celebration as it's a harvest festival like thanksgiving, and there's the whole day of the dead part of it which is celebrated throughout the Americas, but not north of mexico for some reason.

Now valentine's day, there's a holiday to loathe with a passion...

ps monday I'm going sleep off my walking pneumonia

I've always liked Halloween.  It's not my favourite holiday, but it's got nostalgic value.  I'm sick of Halloween parties, though.  Like others have said, it's just a lame excuse to have a party and get wasted, and I'm getting tired of that.

Drinking's okay, though.  So I invited some friends over tonight so we can watch this thirteen-part video series (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igf4ZhZjFrk) on how to make a sheet ghost costume, have a few drinks, and run around the streets.  I think it's that perfect balance of childhood Halloween, and early adult Halloween.

Plus, Jack-o-Lanterns are fun.

I like the idea of Halloween.  Not really into going to Halloween parties or dressing up.  I like that Halloween exists though, it seems to spawn horror movies and Halloween themed TV shows which are fun.

For Halloween, I ignored the trick-or-treaters and attempted a short illustrated horror piece. Check it out!
