You could go back in time and join the workshop here, then leave the workshop once you get the achievement...You should still have it when you come back.
Stupidly, on one of my trips into the future, I bought a World's Sports Almanac 2000-2050, and this dumb, old guy I hired to wash my car has run off with it.
