Just give a one sentence teaser of your current work in progress.  Get us hyped and excited to read it when it hits the workshop.

Right now for me: A fuck buddy type short story / part of my novel that I recently changed into a sugar daddy sort of tale, mostly written drunk, as it's the only way I seem to get the writing accomplished these days.

I like the color of sphincters (lips or assholes).  You add lipstick to make one brighter and bleach to make the other lighter.  I'm fine with natural color.  Although, I guess I really like pale lips, so maybe you should bleach your lips and put lipstick up your ass - just as an experiment.  Post photos of how it turns out.

First post.

I'm a screenwriter/film director, and I'm working on a web series about multiple service industry jobs, entitled "Service". I feel that in general, my films lack "perspective" or character bias, so this is an exercise in adding perspective.

The idea is to take one service (in this example providing a meal at a restaurant) and go through that service from start to finish from the perspective of each person involved in providing that service. Pot and pan washers feel a certain way about dish washers, cooks feel a certain way about waitresses, customers feel a certain way about the restaurant owner. The plot of the short film is the creation of the service, and the service goes through different iterations depending on the character and their point of view.

This series will examine

Hoping to have the first script written by the end of December. :}

3. Untitled project (3,000 words shooting for 30,000) about cannibalism and friendship.

Nighty Nite from NJ is reading Grimscribe: His Lives and Works December 4, 2011 - 8:58am

I've got four projects that I can hardly keep up with.

1. Revising a short story I submitted to the workshop about a month ago, Toys.

2. So far untitled short story for the psychosis anthology.

3. I never made the deadline (due to the stress this last month has caused) so I'm going to keep doing my NaNo story since I love it. It's a gothic horror piece called Nevermore, about 5 broken individuals who are drawn to an old manor for uncertain reasons.

4. The other night inspiration struck me with: Black 6, a transgressive/horror/fantasy/whothefuckknows piece about a group of monster hunters. This idea will probably stay on the backburner until I've finished the previous three though.

Brian Ingham from Stillwater Oklahoma is reading There is No Year by. Blake Butler December 6, 2011 - 5:15am

I'm one of those people who cant work on only one project at a time, which on occasions can be a real pain in the ass. There are two novels that I'm focusing on the most though; the first is a very dark story about a group of high schoolers and a drug induced game they play based around sex and violence that takes a very dangerous turn. The other is a noir/hardboiled crime thriller about two men who meet in the desert and realize they're both trying to hunt down the same man who supposedly ruined their lives(I'll be posting the first chapter of this one very soon, can't wait to get some feedback!)

Also, I'm very interested in this Psychosis Anthology that many of you seem to be working on. I have been working on a few shorts myself that seem to be in the same vein as these...anyway I could get some more info on this? Is there any help needed?

aliensoul77's picture
aliensoul77 from a cold distant star is reading the writing on the wall. December 6, 2011 - 8:55am

It's based on mental disorders told from a medically accurate perspective so it needs to be researched.  Your story can be about anything as long as the main character is the one with the mental illness.  I have a master list of who is writing which disorder, I may open a new thread inviting more people to write for it because it seems like more new people are joining the site.  I would like a rough draft by Dec. 15th but if you need longer, let me know.  I was making the final deadline mid-January but I may make it the end of January because I really want certain people to participate and they need additional time after the holidays.   It's unpaid for now but we are going to shop it around and if it sells well, everyone will get royalties, everyone who gets published in it is guaranteed a physical copy of the book and can use it as a professional writing credit.  Stories can be anywhere from 2500-5000 words or longer if they are exceptional.  Free hugs for everyone who submits.  Email me if you have any questions.
