I was just talking to Rebecca about this and thought it was a great idea. So, post up your stories from WAR, the first one, and tell us what has happened with your work. If they're in progress, what's the status? If they've been published, where did they land? I had four rounds, so here is where my four stories went.

"On a Bent Nail Head" - in the Solarcide anthology, Nova Parade

"Vision Quest" in Surreal Grotesque #1

"Bringing in the Sheaves" at Beat the Dust

"The Wasteland" in a Necro Publishing anthology, Into the Darkness, out in late 2012, or early 2013.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

At this point I have four out of my five stories published or forthcoming:

"Quarter Tank of Gas" - in InfectiveInk

"Blue Hawaii" - in Solarcide anthology, Nova Parade

"The Art of Angling" - forthcoming in Rainstorm Press anthology, I'll Never Go Away Vol. III

"Better Places" - forthcoming in Pulp Modern Issue IV

"Historical Hotties" - I've submitted it to a popular online teen magazine. We'll see.

This is a cool idea. It's neat to see that WAR isn't simply just a fun competition, it's also producing quality work that goes on to be published elsewhere. Nice job, guys. It'll be interesting to see where WAR2 takes us. I'm personally hoping to produce a few stories that I can polish up to a publishable standard.

There are a few WAR stories in Nova Parade.

There's Blue Hawaii as Bek already noted, there's Richard's story On A Bent Nail Head (though, to be pedantic - I believe that was from a battle right before WAR started) and there's a few others.

Joshua 'Utah' D. Moyes - A Stronger Family (originally in WAR as The Great Mother)

Chester Pane - Dreadlocks

Clint Rhodes - ATTN: Human Resources

Moi - Walking On Water

I think that is it.

I must say though, anyone wanting to check those out should wait a few days - The Nova Parade is about to go to the next level, and this evening I took the links down on our site until a new, tighter, version is available very soon.

It's finally coming out for Kindle folks!!!

The page Richard and Bek linked to is still the place to go, just right now it won't have the link to the antho.

Give us two or three days.

Also three of my stories survived WAR (I abandoned one, because despite reworking it, I never managed to 'crack' it)

Walking On Water, The Deep Dark, & Godlings are all going to see publication (first half of next year I hope) as part of one of my projects. WoW is already in Nova Parade but will also be included in the other project.

I never sent the War stories out. I had two of them, not sure if I even have them now though I remember frankensteining a bunch of lines from Creeps into other stuff.

I didn't participate last time around. This time I hope to compile a nice, long list of published WAR stories.

there were a lot of great stories in WAR, i hope you all have been sending them out. not just the winners, but there were many "losers" that were really great as well, just as good, imo (even some "better" imo). i can't imagine what will happen with WAR2. maybe someday we'll have a "best of WAR" anthology to put out. that would be cool.
