You’ve been waiting.

Probably not. But I have. The time has arrived. Vote for your favorite three line W.A.R. poem, from the November/December Plight Edition.

The poll will close on December 30.

The winner will get their choice of Literary Tee-shirt from Miles To Go, compliments of me as a Happy New Year/Congratulatory Gift.

Good Luck to all, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and all that good stuff.

All 14 poems are listed in the comment box below. They are 3 lines a piece. It will take no more than 5 minutes to read all. So You Have No Excuse Not To.

Poem first, and poet's name after.

The exact opposite of the way I have it listed on the poll.

Vote for your favorite.

They will win a prize.

That is all I know.

Good day to you.

We

All die

Running from something.

-La Emme Nakita

Wicked as the Way we walk, Widdershins and Wasted

As the Arrows Aiming after all the Angry Asking

Repay the Ruined Riskers, Raping Roil in the River

-J.Y.

At Your Last

When the mountains roll hot

And flow long to drown you

Remember who fired first

-wickedvoodoo

Wasting

Away our lifetime

Revenue potential

-Dino Parenti

Writing from a prompt

As the wintry winds buffet

'Round my warm retreat
-Boone Spaulding

Wet, fresh blood

Against the sting of open wounds, both from

Recoil

-Courtney

Wake alone--

Always without you:

Rain          -- dreamt sun

Pendragon

We scream like children

Aged two to six. We fuck on

Roadsides. You make me sick.

-Tony Koval

Whispers of a heart's broken

Arrhythmic score:

Rhapsody of You.

- MadPoet

We play god

And we might just be

Revisiting our own ashes

-Frank Chapel

While new babes cry,

As old men die,

Renew our heartfelt aches

-MLNikcy

War waits in the wind

Answering the call of men

Ready when you are.

-CoveWriter

When you lie

Awake in silence,

Remember the fallen.

When red eyeballs crawl through

alleys,

ricocheting tears spotting their skin

Thanks for stopping by the poll Wonderwoman. I started the Poetry contest back in October just for fun. I usually can't afford prizes but for the holidays I decided to spring for it. I will have a new prompt up in January so feel free to stop by the Plight thread in the New Year if you want to write a poem, or read some.

Hey JR - on the poll and on the first post you typo'd my username. No capitals round here, and you lost a C on the poll list. Just sayin'. Ha,

Also - why do people not title their poems? I can't compute work that doesn't have a title. It doesn't exist if it doesn't have a name!

All that said - I love some of these. Great work, folks.

@wickedvoodoo. I'm sure I don't know what you are talking about. They look right to me. ;)

I don't remember what time I set the poll up at last Sunday but I set it to close in 1 week and I just checked the status and it has officially closed.

This was a close race!  Great job everyone. Congrats to Tony Koval, and thank you to all who contributed to November/December's Plight. I will have a new prompt up hopefully on the first, for January's Plight.
