It's been a long time...

VERBS

Ones you use on repeat, ones you've always wanted to use, ones you use irregularly.  Be fancy.  Surprise is a salad bar.

“First they came for the verbs, and I said nothing because verbing weirds language. Then they arrival for the nouns, and I speech nothing because I no verbs.” ― Peter Ellis

It's all about the verbs.

And, you don't win friends with salad.

Okay read is a verb. I read, you read we all read. It annoys when people turn it into a noun as in "that was a good read."  I don't know why it should bother me. I'm not a language purest like some people, and I understand what " a good read" communicates, but still.I guess it's the same As saying  that was a good sleep, or a good fuck, nd those phrases don't bother me. So there I talked myself out of being annoyed. See what a little writing therapy can do?

Would you say "a good drive" or "a good fuck"?

You'll hate this place: http://www.goodreads.com/

^ I'd like to think it is extremely useful.

I do not have a cache of verbs that I deploy on a regular basis. I carefully select the most appropropriate verb for the contxt of a story within the constraint of each individual sentence.

Is that more what you were looking for?

I have already accepted "to impact" and "to adjunct" (and "to TA"). I know people who are very angry about these words.

I'm still amused at "trending" - is it only used in its "ing" form?

I hate "venting." I find myself wondering where the vents are located and it's kind of icky.

I am fond of "defenestrate."

Back off my venting or I will defenestrate you, then throw you back in a window so I can defenestrate you again.
