I finished my story 1-1/2 hours after starting it, and I love the thing so much... Debating whether I should turn it in or sleep on it, just in case it's a piece of crap and I'm just in the "honeymoon" stage of our relationship...

Panic!

I have no more mask or make-up pictures of myself. I've changed my avatar every round thus far. It's possible that if I change it to something where you can actually see my face...I will fall. TH/CC - this may be good news for you, friend!

That said, complete DITTO on the thanks to all those sticking around to read another day. *hug*

Yeah. Emma. Just yeah.I found a costume one - that's gonna have to do.

Sound - problem being, I've used pics of ME thus far, and it's worked, thus far. So I can't just switch to a picture of someone ELSE! Ugh....

Yeah, it's Leeloo.

Emma: Why not? A Leeloo avatar would be kickass. Also, I meant God Of War Kratos. A Solid Snake would be cool, too. He's my favorite badass.

Jonathan Riley's picture

I almost picked a Leeloo Avatar myself. When I searched fifth element 80% of the photos were of her, about 18 were of Chris Tucker and only about 2 % were of Korban Dallas.

@Richard

You just gave me a whole new perspective on how differently we all (humans) view the same things. I feel your sadness after hearing your interpretation of that picture. But I didn't see any in the picture itself. To me she looks determined. She just made up her mind about something and is about to act. I'd watch out if I were on the other side of that window, whatever "I" may be. That is the coolest picture in the world. I want to write a story about it right now.

God, you're right, J.Y. It's been a while, I guess.

If I were going with a Metal Gear avatar, though, it would have to be GotP Raiden, who kicked ass far more than Snake in that particular game (before anyone's panties get all bunched), ran Vamp through via himself, and stopped an entire goddamn cargo ship. SoL Raiden still sucks, and is unfortunately the closest thing the game has to a female protagonist.

Leah: As it turns out, the neat part about using a video game character for my avatar is always having a new WAR pic. That said, I'm still at, oh, zero words right now, so maybe ditching the costume was your secret weapon all along.

Also, Emme, you've referenced one of my favourite RPGs of all time, so I think I love you :)

Oh Chris, I wrote something last night and it is TERRIBLE. So I have to gut it, beat it, and tear it apart.

I will not, however, have sex with it like JR is probably still doing with his story. Because...I can't figure out the logisics therein.

Good luck to all! Get to work!

TomorrowHill's picture

Yeah, that sounds like it would cause way more paper cuts down there than I'd be comfortable with...

Also, to be clear, the number that defines "way more" paper cuts down there is one.

It's one paper cut.

Emme: Me too! I'm a huge fan of the earlier Tales games. Waaaaay, way back, I downloaded a fan-translated rom of Phantasia (before the series was brought to North America) and I was hooked hard. Right now, in my spare moments, I'm actually playing Persona 3 on my old PSP. For some reason, I never picked up the series before, and now it's my own personal Time-Vampire.

My drug of choice is FF but it's been hard to stay excited about these new titles. I've been playing XIII since it came out, and still only 30 hours in. I let a friend talk me into Disgaea 3, which is brilliant but around 200 hours long if you're a completionist, and I'm halfway through Xenosaga.

Sound's picture
Sound from Azusa, CA is reading Greener Pastures by Michael Wehunt January 27, 2013 - 2:52pm

Haven't been a fan of the latest FF, either. After a low point, I think they've been slowly getting better.

TomorrowHill's picture

I used to be a die-hard fan of FF, but I'm honestly of the opinion that the series has been off the rails since 10, and 8 is a bad, bad game.
