You had a great run Beka. If you count both Wars you are like what 13-2 in War? Not freaking bad at all. And if it helps at all I voted for your story. Sorry Gordon, Loved yours too, but I've always been afraid of being drowned by a mermaid and Beka tapped into that fear.

It wasn't, Jess? Now I'm gonna forever wonder, if whoever didn't make that last vote, would it have been MEEEEEEEEEEEE????
And thanks for the lovely words, Jonathan, although it would have been better as a tribute poem. For real, though, it's been great, and Gordon was winning for the most part of the four days, so I did think about what it would be like to really lose this thing after all. I took some time to sit around without my crown on. It was okay. Not great, but okay.
On the other hand, I am still proud of my ride.
I'm still QUEEN of the fucking PIT. Fell in right from the beginning and I fought myself six wins in a row. Literally nobody can do that now, at least not until next WAR.
And lastly, a big congrats to Gordon, who not only wrote a great story, but is also a great guy. It's been a really crazy four days in battle, but it was nice getting to know you and your work. I'm glad I ended up losing to you, and I'm glad that at least I scared you shitless for a bit there.

And "survivor's guilt," yes, as Otis said elsewhere. That sums it up exactly.

Too funny Bekka. I was mostly joking, but I am afraid of sharks and jellyfish and whales and anything in the ocean that I can't see beneath me. But I can't say I never thought about it. If there were a mermaid, I'd think it would want to kill me, not sing to me.

Congrats everyone.
I'm a big fan of every person still remaining at this point. Part of me says I don't care who wins because no matter what, I'm sure to read some great stories in the next couple weeks. Another part of me wishes I could find my pre-WAR2 bracket that I filled out with my original predictions to prove that I had a bunch of these last remaining writers going very far in the first place. Still another part of me would love to see an Ian v. Otis finals, since they are the two who knocked me out (Ian from the winner's bracket, Otis from the WAR completely).
