I don't write cool stuff for these like Utah does.  But you all wanted a new thread, so have this one.

Autoplay, bitches!

Also, I decided this Round is going to be Pit Prompt Z9.

Thanks for the new thread Jessica. "So fresh. So clean."

I said that to annoy Tom for beating you.

The Pit is basically one big bloodbath at this point, but Tom Vs. Bek sounds especially brutal. I'm counting down the seconds until I can read that match.

I won't lie. I'm actually writing this post from the can. Because terror shits.

Balls. I lost. She probably wrote, like, an actual story.

Congrats, LSpieller!

WAR was fun. And at least one of my three stories might be marketable.

If you can't sell Aegis, I'll by the rights from you J.Y. so long as I can tell everyone I wrote it.

gets me every single time...

JR --- The Aegis is the only one I've sent out. It is the one which got the most votes. It is the one I spent the most time on. It is the one which is most recognizable as a story. We'll see if I can find a spot for it.

AD --- People just love 'em, those stories.

I failed to italicize Ragamuffin's name one time. I think that's what did me in.

Matt, you are a gentleman and a scholar. A well-earned victory. I knew I should've gone sentimental … but wanted to try something different to diversify the portfolio.

Lauren and Cove, looks like you get to duke it out to see who inherits the dubioius honor of attempting to out-flash Flash. Ladies fighting over li'l ole me …

Jonathan Riley's picture

@Gordon, you mean Lauren and Closure. Cove is out. I only point this out because I called Lianna, Leah earlier on her match thread. Luckily I edited it before anyone ever found out. Whew that was close. Too bad you weren't as fortunate as me.

Good catch, JR. I thought Cove was out, and see she's back to drunk-posting in the middle of the night, so I was confused.

Is anyone else feeling fried? If I wasn't so bloody competitive I'd call it a day.

Gordon Highland's picture

Mm hm.

Great, that's all I need is to give the guy more fuel. Sorry for calling you a woman, Closure. It would probably be in poor taste for me to follow that up with some joke about how I have no issue with beating on a woman. Plus after the drubbing I just received (not even counting Riley's), it would be ill-earned.

Jonathan Riley's picture

I'm so fried, but I got a week off. You guys in the pit are straight warriors. You will be on your third story in three weeks starting tonight. GodSpeed. I just hope Otis or Lianna's creative juice squirts to exhaustion while I take the week off to study flash.

Yeah, well I have to read stories while I write. Like 1000's of them. You get to bang out a story and then read. So there. Nana Nana Boo Boo.

Great idea, but I think these video prompts are going to be a detriment to reader turnout (the last flash matches got less than 20 votes).

Yes, and I kind of love mine. My prompts have all been right in my wheelhouse, it's uncanny. I am obsessed with doors as portals to other realities, and the working title for my novel is Adore, a play on "a door".

Bekanator's picture

My prompt actually goes well with a story idea I thought up this week but was going to shelve until after WAR2.

So Bekanator has "(reigning cham" next to her name in the brackets. What's a cham? Plus she already has an idea in the hopper? Terror shits indeed.

wait! JY -- you didn't read it?! Bastard! ;)

I'm completely fried. 100%. And then I saw my new prompt and I got excited and scared as shit, b/c I'm not good enough for this prompt. I'M NOT WORTHY.

@Gordon Call me a woman will you? Well, if I'm lucky enough to scrape past my next battle you can feel my wrath then. Otherwise, Lauren gets a crack at you. Plenty of potential for vengeance.

The brackets diagram for WAR now looks pretty...well I want to say epic but I'll just say vast. It's a bloodbath! Boss fights coming up in a few rounds!

Bekanator's picture

@Tom: It's supposed to say "reigning chamption" but the bracket isn't big enough to support my title. I won the first WAR, so I'm back to defend my crown. I always forget that I have to talk myself up because I'm Queen and I'm a bigshot and only Closure has taken me down so far.

The truth is that I don't nearly trash talk as much as I should, so come at me, bro!

Okay, let's get the talking started...

With the field cut down so drastically, who do you all have merging as your "favorite" to win the WAR? I see nothing but good writers remaining on the bracket, both up top and down below, and I'm really interested in how the last few rounds will play out.

Anyone brave enough to venture a prediction?

avery of the dead's picture
avery of the dead from Kentucky is reading Cipher Sisters January 21, 2013 - 1:35pm

My money is down on Chris Carter (TomorrowHill) for the win.  I'm going to be interested next round to see what the newest members of the Pit produce when confronted with Flash.

dufrescm's picture
dufrescm from Wisconsin is reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep January 21, 2013 - 1:37pm

I'm terrible at predictions.  This is why I don't gamble.  But I have a spidey-sense telling me that a hero will rise from the Pit to take down the victor from the WB.
