This sucks. I want to know what people think about the story, but don't. I want to win, but probably won't. I want to keep battling and be active and not sit back and watch. I don't want to wait a week for results.

Waaaaaaaaah!

Any chance of having the stories/polls posted when available? Wouldn't mind knocking out a few votes later tonight as I'm working a lot this week then on vacation till Sunday.

@American (and everybody else, really):  I am beginning to post the first complete matchups now.  And by now, I mean "in a few minutes".

So that everybody understands how this is going to work (because it got shitty and confusing while you were all asleep last night):

Polls cannot (apparently) be locked to members-only.

Therefore, story files will be posted in a locked thread.  The thread will contain a link to the poll for that contest.  There will be no files posted in the poll.

To be as clear as I can:  Each matchup will be comprised of one locked thread that contains the files, and one unlocked poll.

Everybody thank Avery for coming up with the fix of posting the files in a locked thread.  Otherwise, all these stories would either be open to the public eye or the tournament would be cancelled.

Dear Everybody:

If I have, in the process of posting your story/poll, etc., done anything in error, please PM me.  Don't tell me in a thread, because that runs the risk of identifying you with your story and making me DQ you.

But seriously, the process of posting those wasn't as smooth and simple as I would have liked, so let me know if there are any problems.

KIRK IS THE MAN!

He has fixed the poll problem.  Now all the polls are posted Private with the files attached to them.  You will not have to go through the cumbersome process of downloading them from a thread and then finding the poll separately.

Everybody go give Kirk a foot massage.

You mean, whether you enjoy your feet cold or hot?  If I have to taste feet, I prefer them to be clean.  Temperature is really secondary.

If any of those 14 fail to post, what happens? Do you start going through the alternates? Because if that's the case, it looks like there's room on that alternate list.

@Grigori:  At this stage, if some reneges, their opponent gets a "bye" this week.  If both people in a matchup no-show, I'll put an alternate in to make up for the missing person in the next round.

I can't say that I have (had a hangover that is). Yesterday was weird. When I wasn't in handcuffs, I was getting shot at.

Final Verdict: Best St. Patrick's day ever.
