I'm interested in whatever feedback people want to give me about Multi User Dungeon. If it just wasn't your thing and that's it, cool, don't send me a message. But if anyone wants to tell me whether or not it actually works (by whatever means) "as a story," I'd appreciate it. (Not trying to circumvent the workshop; just looking for general responses.)

J.Y.: You hooked me with Dungeon, and I loved the language Ragamuffin used, and the innocuous nature of the screenname for someone so nefarious, but ultimately you lost me with the ending. The fact hat it was a joke broke the spell, as did the banter at the end. I can't say how it "should have" ended, but to me, that just wasn't it.
It was a hard call for me, that match, and I read each twice. I admire the risks you take, your use of language, and the creativity you bring to your work. I'll miss reading your stuff in WAR.

... but, I mean, you didn't have to delete all those glowing adorations, Emme.

Happy now? I am war-weary, and last night slipped and fell on the ice like an old lady. My hip hurts something awful, and I'm pretty sure my brain came loose.

I liked mine the best, but I got my ass handed to me in a paper bag so what do I know. I liked the two crime stories too, they weren't my style but were pretty much exactly what you would want with a hard genre flash story. I also liked both the stories about the three girls, all sugar and spice and everything supercreepy. And obviously I enjoyed my competitor, who showed she was betterer, or something.

Thanks, Renfield! Boogaloo gave me a great laugh when I needed one, so it's got my vote here.

Waiting - a farcical romp through the ongoing guilt of a murderer.
For your consideration.

I know more than 12 people read the stories this bout.

Sorry, didn't notice the thread until now. "Death's Door" was my favorite, and its competitor "Church of the Palms" a close second.

I'm voting late here but it's okay cos I haven't cheated and looked who wrote for what yet.
I voted for Thinspiration.
I'm gonna go check out who wrote what :)

I liked the polar interpretations of Kiera Knightly as the portrayal of a fictional character.

JY -- I agree with Emma. Your story had me hooked - it was so creative, and you had me genuinely spooked. That is, until the end. i wanted some sort of crazy shiz to happen to the last guy left in the chat room, so i was a little disappointed when it all turned out to be a hoax. I was also confused as to why no one could see the guy talking until it was talking to them if it really *was* just some other guy in the room. Still..really creative, and genuinely spooktastic.

@ JY, I agree with Lauren and Emma. I, too, felt disappointed that it was all just a prank. But I did like the story (I think I voted for it in BAS).

I thought anti-climactic trick endings were where it's at.
