I was torn between Maybe It's That it Has a Door for it's creep and whimsy factors and In The Family. After re-reading them both, I decided on In The Family because it just struck me a little harder. Growing up, my Mom was the cook in a retirement home and I spent so much time playing Scrabble, watching TV and listening to the stories of the folks who didn't get visits from their kids anymore. I felt like In The Family was very poignant.

I think my favorites were Plot Points and Between.  I don't usually weigh in, but I'm out and while I'm also biased as hell, I'm really happy with these two stories.  Nice work, people.

Maybe it's That it Has a Door was charming, smart, and had a nice Neil Gaiman feel to it. Great story!
