Congrats, Chris! And that picture is so awesome for so many reasons. We should probably have another one with him draped in ermine holding a sceptre, too.

Thanks again and again Jess for your tireless work coordinating this thing. You and Utah are the best board mods ever.

And congrats to Leah, also very well done.

Aww man, noone told me the winner gets a crown and a seal. I'm already honing my skills and sharpening my knifes for WarIII.

Congrats Chris, your stories were awesome and you got a well-deserved title.

Leah, your stories were equally as awesome and your the only one of us besides Chris that only lost once. Unfortunately it came at the worst time.

Now I'm off for War Mourning and seal shopping on Amazon.

Congratulations, Chris! I didn't read this round because my membership expired, but I've enjoyed every one of your WAR stories so I can imagine that this story would have been just as awesome.

Leah, congratulations on being a grand finalist! You'll have to email me your story for this round.

Jessica & Joshua, thanks for organising WAR for us.

Leah-last-woman-standing-Beth, you totally kick ass :)

I said it last year and I'll say it again Avery+Utah=Awesomeness (although extra kudos to Avery for when Utah was AWOL)

So so so looking forward to War3

Hooray for Chris!!! Seriously, he knows my opinion of him already, and it's a good one. :)

This has been a blast! Wish I'd been able to eke out that one final win, but what can you do? I don't think I'd EVER have written all these stories without WAR. Can't thank you all enough for the continued support, and now I join you in bowing down to the new king (albeit with my head held fucking high).

Anyone else relieved this is finally over? What was it, like, five months all up? Thanks for all the hard work, Avery. WAR was a blast. Now bring on WAR3! ................. later, I mean. Much later.

Take it down? Never! That's probably my favourite picture of me, ever. During my honeymoon, when everyone else was tripping over themselves to swim with dolphins, my wife and I decided to swim with a sea lion instead. We were the only two who signed up, and it was awesome. His name is Kovi, and he's like a fridge with flippers.

But I digress.

Wow, where do I even start? Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who voted for Memory Dealer in the final (and all of my stories, really), to Utah and Avery for keeping me sane throughout the blah of Canadian winter, and to Leah for being an absolute powerhouse in this competition. It feels a little weird to be called the winner since we're actually 1-1, but we've also agreed to do a Thunderdome in the future to settle the score.

So yeah, I do solemnly swear to uphold the title of WAR King to the best of my abilities, and to do everything in my power to keep the title in its rightful Canadian home ;)

Congrats to Mr. Carter on his well-deserved win. I feel honored to have been one of your speedbumps on the way to the crown. Just don't get to comfy with that trophy in Canada; many of us yanks are reloading for WAR 3 to take it back! But seriously, really well done throughout!

Leah, you were an amazing competitor who brought it every week! So glad I got to read your stories and become one of your Litreactor chums in the process.

You rocked this thing from the very beginning. Thinking back, I am pretty sure you got my vote every round except for one. Some really great stories along the way. I really enjoy your writing style.

And Leah - you get SO many kudos too. Really well fought all the way. Princess Leah sounds good to me.

And another hail here for the powers that be, for keeping the whole thing on the tracks and heading the right way. I hope you guys know the time you put in is appreciated.

You all rock so hard. Fooking aye.

Wise decision! Dolphins are creepy, who wouldn't prefer cuddling with a fridge with flippers? And congrats on the win, I haven't been involved with the WAR thing but it seems like a mighty endeavor,  and so you must be respect worthy to have emerged on top.

Thanks so much for the kudos, all. Honestly, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

It's true, the joy that is Canadian Winter keeps me on-task for most of the year (he writes, while watching the snowstorm outside his window AT THE FREAKING END OF MARCH!) It sucks, but it really makes me appreciate those five hours above freezing that we get around mid-July.
