That kiss was epic as fuck. Cannibalism in its infancy is what it looked like. Still a virgin here at 19, I should get on this show and make some easy cash. Would it be whoring myself out? No, cause I haven't had sex. HAH!

OMG.  That was the most awkward kiss ever!  I mean, have they not even seen one on TV?  That can't be real.  It just can't.

I'm sorry, but saving yourself for marriage is just dumb.  I understand saving yourself for someone special and not just fucking the first person to show you some interest, sure.  But, but saving yourself for marriage is .... dumb.

I am a strong advocate for pre-marital sex.

Why is it dumb? I think it's dumb to knock other people's beliefs.

I believe that teaching abstinence before marriage leads to a bunch of kids rushing into marriages they aren't ready for just so they can screw.

There is a difference between teaching no sex before marriage and kids who actually choose it. I know a relatively even amount of people who practiced abstinence before marriage who seemed to rush or who seemed to be careful in choosing their mate.

It's not for me, but it's not for me to judge.

Back to the promo--

Yuck. I mean, if you can save yourself for marriage, you can save yourself for another hour or two.

Abstinence is not a terrible philosophy, but it will never make you pure. The poor suckers who engage in it just for that are only letting the secondary effects get so far into their heads that their wild visions of men with wings and all seeing eyes grow to larger than life proportion.

That secondary effect is what it’s good for though, it is the real advantage. Abstinence will drive you stark raving mad. Hell, after thirty years or so of this business I could see it being perfectly reasonable not to put up a fight, to lay back and let it happen, while they nailed you to a fucking cross.

-From a Blog I wrote about Blue Balls.

I agree 100% with avery.

Eh. I don't. I think it's a little insulting to a great many sane people in loving relationships that chose that path.

Me? I'm really happy I had sex before marriage, and I am glad I had a lot of it. I don't "wish" my current husband had been my first, or anything like that. I won't tell my daughter to wait for marriage, because I don't see marriage as a necessity in life, but if she decides for some reason that's what she wants to do--i'm not going to tell her that her personal beliefs on love and sex are "dumb". Love and sex (and spirituality) are pretty personal things.

I think teaching abstinence and ignoring the realities of the world is dumb, and likely damaging. I think you have to cover all of it, and be open and honest. But if waiting is your thing, that's your thing. Not mine. I've said it before, and I will say it again, I think it's a little disgusting that otherwise tolerant and socially liberal people give themselves "permission" to hit on the religious.

tbh, i think sex is a vital part of adolescence, and if you don't quench the thirst to fuck in your teenage years, you'll become a rather creepy adult.

Take my avatar for example. My failed conquests of dating in the last few weeks has made me hit rock bottom. In fact I'm even wearing my grey Renton jeans. Maybe I should just skip the sex with a highschool girl and just turn myself in before I violate any social or moral norms.

@Jack---Your avatar is a deterent for abstinence in all forms lol.  It just makes me think of creepy pedophiles.

As for the whole sex debate, I am against people who abstain from sex for the reason of feeling like they are better than other people or remaining pure to prove some point to their families or parents.  That being said, if someone chooses to wait for their own personal reasons, that's fine.

I've just seen far too many 19 year old girls getting hitched and struggling through life because they had to wait until they had a ring and a piece of paper before they had sex.

I also think that people shouldn't be allowed to marry before the age of 25.

I'm a pretty complex person.  I'm 90% liberal, 25% dictator.  Also, bad at math.

What the shit was with that kiss? How embarssing.

I can't even tell you how many times I've had this discussion. As someone who was raised Catholic, this was drilled into my head since birth. Of course I defied my dear mother and didn't wait for marriage, but it didn't make me a whore, nor did I get pregnant or raped or AIDS or any of the things she would try to scare me with.

Now, I'm married and been with the same person for 9 years. Her? Well, she just got married for the FOURTH time. It definitely doesn't make her a bad person, she has her values, and she sticks to them,  but it just proves that waiting doesn't mean you're going to live happily ever after.

Man, that kiss, I can't stop watching that clip!
