I'm looking to query a couple of agents and presses for a collection I've got near complete. I'm looking for someone with experience to help target and write a query letter (or letters). This would involve reading the three or so pieces I plan to send out and taking a look at the places I want to target. Ideally looking for someone who's done this kind of thing before. Pays handsomely. PM me.

I could lend a hand, but I have to be honest: while I have tons of experience in query letter writing, I have never written anything resembling a collection, so I don't know the nuances of the market as well as I'd like to. Let me know if you're still looking for someone to aid you in the endeavor, and if you're interested :-).

Even if you don't decide to go with me, just make sure whoever you do select is willing to write a query letter per agent you submit to. A query letter should be personalized to each agent so it's important not to just have a standard letter for everyone! That's the best advice I've ever been given and as soon as I took it, I got a TON of responses from agents looking to read my work. Also, if you choose to walk down the dark road of querying yourself, I highly recommend "the art of the query letter" with Bree Ogden (class here on LR). It changed the way I query for life. :-)
