Am I the only one that thinks there should be a revision history that is included in the summary of the posted works in the "Writers Workshop?"

Ha, Charles, I thought of revisionist history too.

I haven't looked at the Writers Workshop yet but agree that this would be a useful feature.

What do you picture the revision history section telling you? Is it just an area where you, as the writer, can tell people what you have changed since the last time you submitted a story?

Although that would be nice, I don't think a workshop really needs one. Would like one, but don't need one.

Well, from what I can tell...it doesn't work. I updated it, but it doesn't actually show up anywhere. So am I spitting in the wind?

ok, here's one. could you just make a radio button that says this goes with a previous submission, and then pick that submission? because i think what's really being asked for is a way to see what the author has changed in the story without digging for it.

Ahh, JR, I get what you're asking about. 'Revisions' as they currently exist are mostly for administrative use. We should probably change the message there to make it a little more clear.

However, the way that you have used it is interesting and now that I think about it, it might actually be helpful to display that to the reader. I'll look into it a little and see if I can come up with something clever.

I was wondering how this was done too.

I got great feedback, and made significant changes to my story based on the reviews. But then I kept getting reviews after it wasn't necessary anymore. I wanted to just "close" the submission for reviews, but all I could figure out was to delete it altogether. That seemed weird to me.

Is there a way I can stop a submission from getting more reviews until I'm ready to post a revision?

Mr. Welsh, I would say just ignore those reviews if you are beyond that point. People want their points to rack up so they will review something that has pretty much been covered, but you can't really blame them on that. And maybe someone will have some really useful tip later on, you never know.

I am interested in this revision idea, as I think it's sort of a waste of effort for someone to submit a revision of a story people have already read and have less to comment on, kind of annoying actually. It would be nice if you could post a revision into the first submission of that story, and maybe bump it up to the top of the page. Clears up a lot of clutter.
