Hello all,

I'm back from sabbatical. My spirit animal is an eggplant, apparently. In case you were wondering.

Anyway, I'm planning on getting the Community Spotlight rolling out again by the beginning of September, and right now, it's a total Chaplinksyfest. I'm fine bragging on the staff and such, especially for some of the awesome achievements I'm getting to write about, but my job is community manager. Staff managing only comes into play when I have to go help one of them use the microwave safely again.

So unless you want a lethal dose of Josh in September, send me some of your accomplishments, eh? Remember how to do it? Click on the link below and send me some info about cool things you've done. Published a book? Found an agent? Gotten an award? Even if you aren't sure, send it along. You might be brand new to the writing scene or vegemite-salty, and either is okay. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've been up to.

You expected a bunch of writers to actually achieve something besides a hangover and shattered dreams? Go bet on that three legged horse too!

Other than getting a few gender confused looks, and finishing 16K in a month (including a chapter book). Nothing much.:P Rather than achievement, I always undervalue myself.:/

Hey guys,

Someone sent me a message that the spotlight submission link was hard to find, so Kirk was kind enough to give us a permanent button here on the side of the page.

---------->>>>>>

To find it, just open any forum thread. Click the button, fill in the info, and send it off to me.

We had a lot of authors in the last spotlight.

I expect to have a lot in the next spotlight.

Or else.

The button is on this side of the screen now. Click it.

Or else.

We're getting close to the end of the month, and I currently have nobody to feature in the spotlight.

Just thought I'd let you know.

I got nothin' this month.

I sent something, and also a note to hopefully inspire other poets too. It still confuses me though. Like I posted one volume just three days ago.

I started a website. http://www.shortstoryweek.com The goal is to write seven stories in seven days. It is pretty bare bones, last few years it has been just for friends. Those friends have scattered to the four corners a bit and a few people I don't know seem into it so I put up the site to make it easier to do. Not sure that qualifies as cool enough, but if there is NOTHING else maybe?

If you aren't too busy playing Halo 5, there's still room in the Spotlight this month. Get on it.

Hey all,

I'll be in the process of moving from one lair to another at the beginning of December, so I'm likely going to wrap up writing December's Spotlight column a little earlier than usual. So if you want to be featured in the Spotlight, go ahead and send me your submission as soon as you can to make sure you're in.

If you've forgotten, there's a link on the right to the submission form.

Once again, a reminder about the Community Spotlight.

I didn't write one for January mainly because nobody sent me anything to brag about. That is, of course, not all that's contained in the average Spotlight article, but it is my favorite part of it.

There will be a new column coming in February, and so far, I still have exactly zero submissions to talk about. Surely you've been working hard since the beginning of the new year, yes? Let me know about it.

See that little box on the side of your screen? You might need to scroll up a bit. The one that says, "Attention Members!"? Click that button, fill out the super brief form, and you'll get some free publicity for your accomplishments at the beginning of the month.

Or, I suppose, you can just click here.

Considering that we have over 25 thousand Facebook members (and that's JUST Facebook), the amount of exposure versus the time it takes to fill out the form is insanely lucrative. Don't pass it up.

Hey, person who's too shy to tell me about your achievement.

Tell me about your achievement. So far, I still have ZERO people to talk about in the spotlight.

You could get it all to yourself.

We have a couple of days before the May column will be going live. We're running a little light on submissions this month, so if you've done something worthy of kazoos and confetti, let me know.
