I used to primarily write flash fiction. If I got lucky, I might have connected flash fiction (episodic short stories composed of around seven flash pieces.) Are there any recommended literary zines to submit to, that have a fairly high standard. (By that I mean, a very low acceptance rate.)

Also what is the difference between Transgressive and Subversive? I looked up the definition on either one, and they both sound kind of similar. When I was on my booklikes, that didn't help much either. As both looked sort of like Cyberpunk without the cyberspace.

I wasn't sure if this was a writing or publication thread.:/

Frankly, I've never heard anyone in person say that 'Subversive' is a genre. 'Transgressive' is sometimes thought of that way, but I don't think of genres in such terms. Those are plain adjectives, not really categories (like Sci-fi or Action or Tragedy).

You can subvert tropes, or subvert ideas or conventions. 'Transgressive' seems to always refer to a crossing over some boundary of societal convention. So you can write a subversive Western (which plays with tropes), or a transgressive Western (which flies in the face of standards or attitudes), but they're both Westerns. If you subvert or transgress in a contemporary setting, then I guess you could use those terms to distinguish your story from straight literary fiction or what-have-you, if you wished.

"Subversive Techno Mystery" makes me think near-future-Sci-fi non-traditional mystery.

Yea a subversion of why it has happened, as suppose to the is it going to happened. A techno story framed more like a mystery than a suspence. Though a bit smaller in scope than technological meltdown.
