Earlier this year Chuck Palahniuk served as a guest istructor on a workshop led by Suzy Vitello. It was a blast. He even expressed interest in teaching a solo class—and that time has come.

Originally, I pitched Chuck on a super straight-forward workshopping class. Something I thought would be in his wheelhouse. Admittedly, it was a little dry. Leave it to him to take that idea and twist it into something completely mad and exciting.

Writers' Scavenger Hunt is a cross between a writing workshop, and, well, a scavenger hunt. It's a four-week intensive that'll push your boundaries, get you thinking in new ways about stories, and also, there are prizes!

The LitReactor faithful gets first crack. The class doesn't appear on our 'online classes' page yet, but here's a direct link

I've set aside seven seats. Once those sell out—or tomorrow morning, whichever comes first—I'll put this on sale to the general public. And those 15 seats are a hard cap. We'll have a waiting list, but it's highly unlikely we'll add any more seats when it sells out.

So if you want in, get moving.

Cheers.

Rob, I assume you've decided to be a part? It sounds frigging awesome. Challenging too.

Hmmm, So far it's us Seductive Beginnings alumni. Probably because two weeks with Chuck was amazing and I couldn't resist a chance of a full four.

No, I won't be taking part. I get the benefit of sitting ringside and I'll just have to live with that.

It's you three alums thus far. Glad there will be some familiar faces in the mix, but excited to get some new blood in there, too.

OK, leaving the office in a bit so here's where things stand:

There is 1 seat still up for grabs. I doubt it'll be up for grabs for too long. Once it's gone, the class page will read as "sold out."

It won't really be sold out. We're going to wait until tomorrow morning to add more seats, and then we'll open it up to the general public. So if you're looking for a second chance, then keep your eyes on the feeds tomorrow morning.

More soon!

Do you think it's possible he might do something like this again at another time? I'm moving in September so $500 is an impossible price for me right now but I'd hate to think I'm missing my only chance.

With an author of Chuck's exposure, I'd say this may not happen again any time soon.

Aud--it'll always depend on Chuck's schedule--and how well the experience goes--but I'm optimistic this isn't the last time we'll host him here.

Gotta save up for this one, when it goes public.

Does this include how one thinks of novels? I can do a short story, yet a full length novel continues to allude me for whatever reason. (Got 75,500 words worth of short stories though.)

I'm in. Been a long time since I've taken a class. I was apprehensive because I'm gonna be out of town much of the first week (filming at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame), but it was a unique opportunity I couldn't pass up!

So now I guess we're incredibly handsome, yeah?
