I wonder if the flyer said "if you have a hard time finding kickboxing pants, just wear jeans"?

I was expecting a rant about how shit Muse (the band) has become. Can we discuss that?

I love pointless threads.

If anybody sees my "book," let me know where I can get a copy.

I wouldn't say Muse the band has gotten much worse; they were always pretty cheesy, like Queen the band in a minor key.

I like Muse's new song, Madness. Agreed Queen is a heavy influence on that song in particular. I'm not sure if they have ever been consistently amazing or anything, kind of hit or miss for me.

My Chemical Romance is a lot like that, too. When they first got big that was kind of what I liked about them, but they were playing with another band I went to see last year and I realized that they just aren't that good. Hmm.

On a band note, one of my really close friends is in a new band with the lead singer from Spoon and guitarist from Wolf Parade, Divine Fits, they played Jimmy Fallon last night, the album is streaming on NPR and its amazing. ~ and not just because he is my friend.

You know a guy in Divine Fits? That's awesome. I've been a Spoon fan for a good while now (geez, like 10 years.) Only heard the first single off the DF album; I'll check it out sometime.

Yeah the drummer Sam Brown, he was also in New Bomb Turks, amazing drummer. There was a super tight knit group of weirdo's in my small home town, and we have all stayed pretty close.

I'm super impressed with your links to Spoon, too. I saw them a few years back in a rural-ish area in Australila.  What's your friend's band called? I'll check them out.

I haven't heard the New Bomb Turks in 10 years. I should change that.

I think the exciting thing here is definitely the New Bomb Turks, they were fantastic.  Got to see them once at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago, close to 8-10 years ago.  Fantastic!

That's cool, I'll tell my friend. New band is pretty awesome though.

Sometime somewhere in the nineties, I borrowed two cds from a friend. One from the New Bomb Turks, the other from the Refused. I think I gave him some Exploited music. In all honesty, I was kind of shocked. I remember I didn't like the New Bomb Turks and I was way more into the Refused. I also remember that that friend liked Crass music, which what i thought were a pretty rough (anarcho)punkband.

In those days I only listened to the Exploited, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys and the Specials... I was a oldschoolretropunky trying to kick at everything what I saw , what I knew and what I understood. It could well be, I almost know for shure that the New Bomb Turks actually were the first "punk" band I critizied back then. I think I thought they were "lame". Not Punk enough. I think I must have been 16 or so when I made that opinion when I returned both cds back to owner.

Nowadays I have changed a little, but those early punkbands learned me that you should and could listen to all the music you want and that is what I eventually did and still am doing. That it why i should give the New Bomb Turks another chance i think and the Refused too. haha

I wasn't a fan of New Bomb Turks even though one of my best friends was in the band. Music either effects me deeply or not at all, and there has been, and still are so many bands that do. I was into all the punk bands in 8th grade and moved onto grunge and now my list is too eclectic to even try and label. I love, The Kills, Always Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits, Bon Iver, Sigur Ros, Sunset Rubdown, The Walkman, Blonde Redhead, I could go on forever so I'll stop. Music is such a big part of my life, keeps me sane most days.
