I'm still hunting for reviewers that like transgressive or dirty realism and give thorough reviews. They seem pretty hard to come by. My book comes in any format including mobi, pdf, epub, ibook, and print. You can even read the whole thing online at goodreads for free. It's the first book of a two-part series.

Synopsis of The Origins of Disgust, Self-Hatred, and Hostility:

Set in the underbellies of Southern California during the 1980s, this shocking story focuses on the life of a young runaway named Mike Hollister, the criminal-minded surrogate family who molds him, and the lucrative, illegal operations he accepts as the norm. At seventeen years old, Mike abandons his co-horts of crime in the suburbs for the drug infested canyons and urine drenched underpasses of downtown. In the filth and disparity of the homeless, intravenous drug addicts, prostitutes, and the mentally ill, he devises one of the most original, and highly profitable, illegal money making schemes ever. Even though Mike may be the most street-wise kid around, he can't predict the unforeseen disasters his operation will produce in the most brutal of manners.

Do you want reviews like we do on the site, along with LBL's or just a general review of what we thought?

R. Moon, I'm kind of confused with your response. It (confusion) happens to me much too easily these days.

You asked if I would like "reviews like we do on the site..." but I'm not sure which site you are referring to.

What's an LBL?

You asked if I wanted just a general review but I'm not sure what that means as I have nothing to compare it to.

Please help me out here. i'm lame.

In the Workshop, people review others' work to improve it. LBLs are "line by lines." People will literally make comments on words they don't like, sentences that drag, or moments that need different pacing. Things like that. LBLs are deeply invested reviews that are meant to make your work better.

So are you looking for reviewers who want to help you improve your novel, like an editor, or people who will review your novel for their website?

Thank you Courtney.

I'm looking for a review in general as LBLs would be far too much to ask of someone for an entire book.

Join the workshop and put it up one chapter at a time.  It will take a while (and you'll have to build up a lot of credits for reviews), but it's worth it.  Doing reviews on other people's work will improve your writing as much as it improves their writing.

bryanhowie, Yeah, I'm ready to do that for my next book but since this one has already been published I'm looking for people who review books for blogs or zines.
