Hey - I used to run some writing contests here and I seem to have collected a LOT of old stories. Which I am now purging. If you participated in WAR @ here on LR or any writing contests on Lit Demon, and you have lost your story somehow and want a copy of it, I may be able to help. I don't have all the stories, but I have many dating back to 2013. I plan to delete these in the next week so i wanted to give anyone who wanted theirs the opportunity to claim it.
Sorry - I can't give you other peple's stories. That's weird.
Why would you delete them?
I still have copies of my WAR submissions. I appreciate the offer, though.
@Thuggish I don't think you realise just how many hundreds of stories that could potentially be. For just last years War there were a total of 126. Not to mention the year before was a double elimination round. Plus the other battles held which had between ten to twenty entries. I'm surprised Jessica still has so many of them.
Ah that's not much hard drive space. Drop box it!
...I thought she was Avery.
Yeah it is just a ridiculous amount of space being eaten up by stories. But, as i might be a hoarder, I have trouble deleting them, but offering them to the owners first will set my mind at ease.
I'll probably keep a few...
Yes, she is also Avery...?
Point being tho, why should she have to store everyone's stories? War stories are off the cuff, created in a week and even the best ones still need polishing. Most people will have reworked what they created and some may already be published.
Holy Guacamole - LOTS of them are published. I can't tell you the sense of joy and pride I feel when i see someone has published a story they created in one of my contests.
Rebecca Jones-Howe's recent release Vile Men is just full of stories she created with prompts from these contests. It really does make me happy.
Is vile men out now? I wanted a copy of that, Bec wrote some killer stories in war :)
I am pretty fairly certain that it is officially out now. :D
