Hello everyone. First off, I love this thread. It's a great place for everyone to self-promote and support one another. It looks like we've got a lot of talent here at LitReactor! Second: I am new to this writing community. I've explained myself a bit in a thread in Introductions called "Another 'New Here' Thead".
Now, my whoring:
I recently published a short eBook on Amazon (link below). It contains a couple of short stories and a few poems, all of which were previously published in online and/or print magazines. The fiction was directly impacted by everything I learned at The Cult several years ago and drafts of these stories were critiqued in the workshop there. Publishing this collection has been a fun way to get back into writing!
The stories and poems in this short collection describe passionate (and sometimes dark) reactions to the human experience.

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be a part of Behold: Oddities Curiosities and Undefinable Wonders. My story "Hiraeth," will be in this exciting anthology (I've seen the full TOC). It's a story about pain, hope, suffering, and the stories we tell ourselves, the layers of reality that exist around us. Hope you dig it. I'll be joining a growing table of contents that so far includes Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell, Lucy A. Snyder, John F.D. Taff, Brian Kirk, Patrick Freivald, Kristi DeMeester and Erinn Kemper. Josh Malerman will write the foreword. More to come! Stoked. (FYI: Hiraeth is defined as "a feeling of nostalgia or longing for a place you've never been, or which may never have existed.)

That's Awesome, Richard. I'm definitely buying and looking forward to that one—and Clive Barker! Wow! He's a Serious favorite of mine.
Stoneboat 7.2 “Beyond Red and Blue: Voices for America" is a special issue of the literary journal dealing with the current political divide in our country. My story “The Red Tie” sees a family torn apart when a liberal young man loses the trust of his conservative mother over political and social differences.
Also, my story DWDC appears in the upcoming NASTY anthology from the folks over at Flash Fiction Online, and the anthology is spotlighted in a new article at Rolling Stone.
For those who don't know, Richard Thomas was very kind to me during my workshop days in the early decade and helped me become the writer I am. So I owe him thanks for any success I find and I highly recommend his classes here at LR. I look up to him as much as I do Clevenger and Ketchum.
And Richard, sorry I've been out of touch. I wasn't writing for 2 years due to a divorce and all that comes with it, but I'm working hard to get back into it and haven't forgotten the lessons you've taught me.

Hey everyone. I can't remember my last post on this website, as I haven't been as active with the workshop as I used to be. So for those that sort of remember me and would like evidence that I didn't quit writing or disappear-
I've got all sorts of stuff published on my amazon page: https://www.amazon.com/W.P.-Johnson/e/B008N21TJ8/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0
Notably, Dream Dress, which is my first novella. It is self published, but it's part of a larger collection coming out next spring/summer through Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing and titled The Eight Eyes That Watch You Die.
I started and finished a novel entitled A Song For John and currently have a provisional agent (which means we aren't really official until we've made adequate revisions and start pitching it). You can read about my journey to publication on my wordpress, which I most def ripped off from another author here who had documented his own journey to publication: https://americantypo.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/the-road-to-publication-or-how-i-wasted-the-past-six-months/
I'm working on another book and tried my hand at scripts, adapting the aforementioned Dream Dress into a feature, and my short story "Train Tracks" into a pilot for a weird crime show. I submitted Dream Dress to screencraft for their horror script contest and also paid an extra fee to get notes. The response was, overall, pretty good. They called it "wildly original". Negatives- too much dialogue for a horror script and the third act was drastically different than the first two acts. also- not enough scares. Scored a 6.3/10, which is pretty solid considering it's my first script. For any writers interested in screen writing- do it. It'll help you with your fiction writing, as it teaches you how to structure a story with just dialogue and action.
anywayyyyyyy that's all my updates. hope to get more publishing news soon.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know I will have three stories published in various magazines in the next few months.
My short story ‘Sometimes The Air Stills’ will be published by BULL magazine. ‘Everything Is Burning’ will be published by STORGY magazine.
And ‘Comfort Blankets’ will be published in the next issue of Structo magazine.
All three of these stories were workshopped here at LitReactor, and I can honestly say that my work is all the better for it. I am so grateful for the feedback and input from my fellow workshoppers. Thanks a lot guys!
Not that my news is worthy of a goddamn Oscar speech or anything, but…
I also wanted to thank Richard Thomas. I’ve never actually communicated with Richard, and have always been more of a fan boy than anything else. However his article on here with his advice and candid insight into the world of publishing and submissions is beyond helpful. I cannot stress enough how invaluable this info was for me to jump in and start submitting my work.
If you read this, thanks Richard!
Cheers,
Chris

My novel KIND NEPENTHE which I workshopped here in many, many classes, with Chuck Palahniuk, Suzy Vitello, Ania Ahlborn, John Skipp and others, was published last summer. It's been getting incredible reviews and has been in the Amazon Bestseller list for horror several times, plus it just won The Maxy Award for Best Thriller. Really stoked on all that, obviously.
I had a flash piece I wrote in a Richard Thomas class published in Shotgun Honey.
I had two stories in the anthology One Hundred Word Horrors, which also featured some fantastic writers like Richard Chizmar and Lisa Morton.
I've had a story accepted for an upcoming Christmas Horror Story anthology, and another for The Ever Growing Horror Anthology.

Nice update. I'll check out your stuff. I am an actor and a writer and I have attempted screenplay and playwriting. Hardest writing I ever tried, especially stage plays....so thanks for offering your work up here for us to take a look. I warn you I'm slow, way slow. Sometimes I need a reminder. Anyway, good job at all the work you've doen. I will take a look. gail
So... is that truly a vegetarian cookbook or not?
My story, "Malingerer" is in the new issue of The Fiddlehead.

My alternate history novel, "Payback - Hit on Hitler," is published by Moonshine Cove and available in both paperback and e-book editions.
"Payback" is set in 1938 and its premise is that the gangster Bugsy Siegel teams up with an undercover US agent to assassinate Hitler on his state visit to Italy that year.

"The Hum" is on The No Sleep Podcast! I am particularly excited about this as it is my first pro-rate selling story. And guys, the team over at No Sleep did an amazing job with the production and voice-acting. It is so cool to hear these super talented people take my story and crank it up to 11!
You have to pay the $1.49 for the annual membership to hear the full episode and my story, but in my totally unbiased opinion, it's totally worth it! Check it out at https://www.thenosleeppodcast.com/episodes/s10/10x05
And a HUGE thank you to Yegwen, Linden, and LaurieBerke who workshopped it and helped me shape it into what it is today. You guys ROCK!

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know I will have three stories published in various magazines in the next few months.
Cheers,
Chris
That's wonderful news, Chris! Congratulations! If you can, please provide a link when your stories are up. Your workshopped story "Sometimes the Air Stills" was incredible - I'd love to read all three when they're published.
Richard's classes on LitReactor are amazing if you haven't taken one yet. Beyond even "Beyond helpful" would be my assessment. I think I learned more from him in two weeks than I have in two years of attending writing workshops and other online courses. Highy recommend.
Warmly,
Bellbird
Congratulations Chris!
Those are all great stories.
I remember each one, vividly!
Humboldt,
That's a mighty fine list of accomplishments.
Congratulations!
Kedzie
Thanks, Kedzie!
Just put the paperback edition of KIND NEPENTHE in my Amazon shooping cart. Reviews are tremendous and the story unfolds in my favorite place on the planet. 1st kid was conceived there. TMI? DON'T CARE! :-)
