Haven't posted in awhile or poked my head in much, but for those that may remember me when the site first started, I have a story out in the newest issue of Shroud. It's a long story, what I'm calling a novelette. It's entitled "The God Of Dead Dreamers" and is about a drug addict hired to smuggle drugs back to the States. Out of all the stories I've written, it's my most ambitious one to date and it's the one I would direct new readers of my work to. As it's just come out, there are no reviews yet, but the editor described it as such: "A junkie agonizing for his next fix takes on a last-resort clandestine mission only to face a reality his drug-addled dreams could have never constructed".
But really, it's so much more.
For the price of three dollars, or free if you have amazon prime, it's well worth it and I hope you give it a chance (and leave a review if you find the time). Link below.
I'm also doing a silly contest for readers of the story. If you can tell me why Iggy Pop's "Lust For Life" is relevant to the story, aside from the fact that the song is about heroin addiction, I'll send you some kind of special prize. Direct message the answers, or if you know me through social media, message me there.

I'm very excited to announce that SKULLCRACK CITY is finally available from Lazy Fascist Press (with an amazing cover from Jeff Soto)! Sure, it took nine years from its announcement to be released, survived a publisher shake-up, and prompted a visit from the FBI, but now, at last, it's here.
"A nightmarish yet hilarious journey. You're in for an entirely unpredictable ride, the tale spinning ludicrously out of control as the hero uncovers layer after grotesque layer of a vast macabre conspiracy. Skullcrack City is original, utterly insane, and a shitload of fun.”—DAVID WONG, author of John Dies at the End
“Skullcrack City messes with your mind the way William Burroughs or a bellyful of hallucinogens will do. I’m a longtime fan of Johnson. A master of derangement, he’s been bringing it for years. This time, though, it’s different. He’s burst into the clear and is taking seven-league strides across the literary landscape.”—LAIRD BARRON, author of The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All
“Skullcrack City’s blend of genres, breakneck pacing, brutality, and dashes of philosophy and social critique serve to cement Johnson as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary fiction. Skullcrack City is a smart, incredibly well-researched, and painfully plausible look at our immediate future. Jeremy Robert Johnson's work has always tested the limits of both genre and literary fiction and this novel proves that there's still new ground to tread and that he's already on it.”—BOOKSLUT

Just got the latest blurb for DISINTEGRATION from Irvine Welsh! Stoked. Here's all four:
“A dark existential thriller of unexpected twists, featuring a drowning man determined to pull the rest of the world under with him. A stunning and vital piece of work.”
—Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting and Filth
“Sweet hot hell, Richard Thomas writes like a man possessed, a man on fire, a guy with a gun to his head. And you’ll read Disintegration like there’s a gun to yours, too. A twisted masterpiece.”
—Chuck Wendig, author of Blackbirds and Double Dead
“Thomas builds his universe and its population with terse prose and dynamic, often horrifyingly visceral imagery that unspools with grand weirdness and intensity. Then he rips that universe apart, brick by bloody brick. Disintegration is provocative. It’s also damned fine noir.”
—Laird Barron, author of The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All and The Croning
“Disintegration is gritty neo-noir; a psycho-sexual descent into an unhinged psyche and an underworld Chicago that could very well stand in for one of the rings of Dante's Hell. Richard Thomas' depraved-doomed-philosopher hitman is your guide. I suggest you do as he says and follow him, if you know what's good for you.”

—Paul Tremblay, author of A Head Full of Ghosts and The Little Sleep
