FINAL TOC for CHIRAL MAD 2 SET
Love the cover art, and this TOC is so amazing. Honored to have my story “Playing With Fire” in here. It’s got more wolves, fireflies, a hut on a hill, a man alone trying to fix his broken heart, and a giant tree branch that may be his undoing. (My story was in WAR 2.)
Looks like Michael Bailey and Written Backwards have done a great job with this.

I just have to share these because it's so fucking cool. My story in All Due Respect (which I linked up thread somewhere) was a WAR 2 story, it won it's round. I loved it. I tried to set it free a couple times but editors REALLY did not want it due to it's themes. Okay, fine. Well, Mike Monson and Christ Rhatigan wanted it, and it couldn't be in a better "home." One of the guys that writes on the same music site as me wrote THIS amazing review that actually slammed me, and then, today, Chris Rhatigan guest blogged at Do Some Damage to speak on why exactly they took this story, despite it centering on child abuse which is a common hard no (HERE). It really blew me away... I mean, you know an editor likes your story when they take it, but... anyway. Enough horn tooting. I've gotta go write some more stuff, haha.

It's just good to know that it found an audience that could appreciate it for what it is, instead of giving a knee-jerk reaction. I've been sort of overwhelmed by the fact that several people have gone out of their way to compliment me on it. Pretty cool shit.
And yeah, I didn't comment before, that CM2 has got a badass TOC! I'm definitely going to have to pick that one up.

My first WAR2 story already had the American aspect built into it; it was just a matter of fleshing it out and amping the horror. Barring that, I'm possitive I would've experienced the same conundrum as you. No doubt this would've been that much better with you in it.

There will probably be a big announcement here tomorrow, but in the mean time, we can finally share the cover art for BURNT TONGUES (Medallion Press) which I edited with Chuck Palahniuk and Dennis Widmyer.
This collection of transgressive short stories will be out in August. Cover art by Jay Shaw. With an introduction by Chuck Palaniuk. Stories by Neil Krolicki, Chris Lewis Carter, Gayle Towell, Tony Liebhard, Michael De Vito, Jr., Tyler Jones, Phil Jourdan, Richard Lemmer, Amanda Gowin, Matt Egan, Fred Venturini, Brandon Tietz, Adam Skorupskas, Bryan Howie, Brien Piechos, Jason M. Fylan, Terence James Eeles, Keith Buie, Gus Moreno, and Daniel W. Broallt.
Hope you dig it! This has been a long time coming. A minimalist cover for a minimalist author, this transgressive art really blew me away when I first saw it—so original.

Entered both!
good luck!
Tiny whoring. One of my stories got tossed into the running for the Pushcart thing and I just gave permission for the first time to an artist to perform one of my stories as part of a performance art thing. The end of this year has been strange and kind of great.
^^nice, shannon. congrats!
Congrats, Shannon, that's awesome!
That is super cool!!
TOC for American Nightmare, from Kraken Press...
why is that so SMALL, here you go (oh, and congrats. looks great. i just could NOT wrap my head around the 1950s voice, totally failed to submit. wanted to be in here. boo.)
Man, this happens to me all the time! Is there a way to save an image so it's not microscopic? Thank you by the way, Richard, for posting it at human scale.
My first WAR2 story already had the American aspect built into it; it was just a matter of fleshing it out and amping the horror. Barring that, I'm possitive I would've experienced the same conundrum as you. No doubt this would've been that much better with you in it.
@dino-just link directly to the photo, and use the IMAGE button.
Broallt.
You can even pre-order now.
Hope you dig it! This has been a long time coming. A minimalist cover for a minimalist author, this transgressive art really blew me away when I first saw it—so original.
Burnt Tongues looks very cool. Congrats to all involved in it, I'm excited to read your stories.
