Cool Collaboration—Nice Artwork, Dino!
This left me with a creepy feeling and visual: "He is a body in a bed, in a place full of bodies in beds. Felled by a microscopic tangle of his own platelets, he is distinguished only by the endless sleep which has stripped the meat from his bones and the mind from the man."
Liked this, too: "Felled twigs popped beneath his cycling shoes and sent chills up the length of his spine. The woman looked dead at first glance; eyes closed and shards of bone spiked through skin like split bamboo."

Cease, Cows is a pretty awesome new online fiction/poetry zine that is really cranking out quality material in their first couple months.
Jeremy Robert Johnson is one of the best authors I've read in a long time, a writer who's stories make me smile and make my skin crawl all at the same time.
It was originally written for a writing challenge where you were to take the last line of a favorite story and make it your first line. I took the last line to Extinction Journals, by Mr. Johnson, and beat it senseless until it became my story. The writing challenge wasn't a fan, but the kind folks at Cease, Cows were.

A serial story I'm working on just went live on JukePop:
Zachary Artemas is a man who knows how to find things; at least, that’s what his card says. When his favorite watering hole closed, all he wanted was a quiet place to have a drink. Instead, he stumbled over a growing string of dead bodies, and a very annoyed Police Lieutenant who would like nothing more than for Artemas to disappear. Who is the reclusive T.E.M.? What does he want Zachary to find?
Things are never quite what they appear in Pocketville.

Hey, Sean! Long time no see. You workshopped with me on a story of mine last year—not sure if you’ll remember—it’s the one about the pyromaniac who avenges his sexually abused wife and ends up in a serious showdown with some supernatural motherfuckers.
Story was published back in April by Dark Moon Books through their monthly e-mag Dark Eclipse.
So I owe you a Huge Thank You—your input helped me the most for re-shaping that babee. It’s now called “The Urge’s Eternal Victory”—here’s the link for the issue it's featured in.
Anyway, it’s good to see you kicking around and kicking ass—Congratulations on landing your first published story at such a cool place! Love the Bio and Pic Art.
“What Child Is This?” is was quite the enjoyable read, too. Dug the flashes of both panic and humor going on in that guy's head. I believe I read something of yours in the upcoming Flash Me! anthology as well. Good stuff.

And yes, you did see something of mine in the table of contents for the Sinthology. Super excited for the day that gets revealed as well!

Aye, Jack! I had seen that and enjoyed “Hatched” very much. Yeah I thought the whole issue was solid—Sales were strong out the gate for a DE issue but then dipped way down since #22 and 23’s release—so maybe it’s good we’re out talking about it again.
And Sean, that’s fucking cool! Thanks again, man. Glad we can keep up with each other here. I know that Flash Me! is in the final stages and should see a release in the coming month or two. No later than August.
@Everyone: We actually have something else to promote for Solarcide. The Monthly Feature for June went live today and comes from English Professor and Novelist Alex S. Johnson—also known in the music world as a journalist for 18 years.
His story is “We Have Always Lived In Our Heads,” and if you dig the dismantling and rebuilding of society, or heads separated from bodies, you won’t want to miss this one.

thanks, brandon and sarah. yeah, it's so good, i mean, i say that as a fan. i just started with the stories that i've read over the years that blew me away, and was lucky enough to acquire them. you wouldn't believe how hard it is sometimes. the bigger the name the harder to get the rights, even for a reprint, and some want to charge $200, $300, $500 for the rights. man, if i had to pay $10,000 to get the rights for all of these this book would never get made. only had to drop a few authors because of it, none of my favorites. talking to Penguin and Little Brown and FSG, it's crazy. some of those presses are huge, sending documents to Canada and NYC and all over the place.
but, yeah, i can't wait for this to come out. if you weren't sure what i'm trying to do at DHP, this should really set the tone.

Congrats, Utah and Renee as well. Will check out both tales later today.
@Dino: I believe they're accepting.
Congrats on everyone's recent successes! Awesome stories Utah and Renee, loved them both.
Mucho congrats, Utah, Renee, Brandon, Richard and everyone before that as well.
I feel like it is so nice for us writers to support each other and love reading things when I know the author. But I have so many of them piled up unread. Oh well, maybe I'll keep whittling away at it and get around to everyone eventually. :)
Sped through the new PWG yesterday. Great stuff indeed. I love that mag in general.
Congrats Utah and Renee! Awesome stuff.
My column at Parable Press has just (re)started. The first installment, Forecasting, is up now. My WAR 2 story, "Things Fell Apart" will also be up there as well in a month or so.
I have another story up at Carnival Lit Magazine in their Vol 4. issue. My story is titled, The Symmetry of Things. A lot of you helped me polish it up here at the workshop not too long ago. Take a look if you have two seconds. It's short.
The Booked. Anthology is alive on the internet. Includes many writers you all love, and a story by yours truly. Order now!

That line up is amazeballs.
I cannot even wait for this. Awesome lineup, Richard!
thanks, brandon and sarah. yeah, it's so good, i mean, i say that as a fan. i just started with the stories that i've read over the years that blew me away, and was lucky enough to acquire them. you wouldn't believe how hard it is sometimes. the bigger the name the harder to get the rights, even for a reprint, and some want to charge $200, $300, $500 for the rights. man, if i had to pay $10,000 to get the rights for all of these this book would never get made. only had to drop a few authors because of it, none of my favorites. talking to Penguin and Little Brown and FSG, it's crazy. some of those presses are huge, sending documents to Canada and NYC and all over the place.
but, yeah, i can't wait for this to come out. if you weren't sure what i'm trying to do at DHP, this should really set the tone.
SO buying this.
