I mentioned this in the calls for submissions thread, but I wanted to pop in and give some information here, too.

My boyfriend and I recently launched a journal/press called Parable. It's about the human condition in every way. The only thing we don't want is sci-fi or fantasy; anything set in our universe that provides some sort of insight into the human condition is welcome.

We're unable to pay at the moment and had to settle for a Wordpress site because the money we expected to come in this week never showed, so it seems a little off-kilter, but we're working hard to correct all the issues.

Our website is parablepress.wordpress.com; we're currently accepting submissions for fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, and mixed media pieces.

Don't pass up sci-fi that's where some of the most avante garde thinking on the planet is showcased in that alley off the main street down the narrow path between compounds with high walls that disgorges you into a beautiful walled tree lined square where chess is played all day and actors and actresses try out their roles and  dance troupes breeze back and forth and many little clumps of intellectuals launch their disparate ideologies into the haze of coffee smells and plumes of smoke.
