Afternoon all,

I recently finished redrafting a novel that I've been working on for the past few years and I've reached a point where I'm happy with it. I've sent it to some writers and readers I know and trust for critiquing, proofing and feedback, but I would value a few more eyes looking at it. As such I would like to propose a swap.

I know this kind of thing has been discussed here before, and I'd be interested to see if anyone would like to swap and critique each other's work. I'm currently not a Workshop member and would rather not submit chapter by chapter, as I believe I would get (and can give) a better critique of a novel if it is done as a complete document.

To give you an idea of my style please see Donation in the Arrest Us challenge. The book itself is around 70,000 words (just under 300 pages double-spaced), and a brief summary is as follows:

A man and a woman meet at a party, but this isn't the usual story of girl meets boy. Sam, bored with life and desperate to impress, claims to be planning to rob a bank. Charlie, a career criminal, takes this idea a little too literally and draws Sam into a dark underworld where wealth is taken, not earned, through violence and manipulation. As the black and white of morality dissolves into a murky grey, Sam is faced with the choice of escaping back to a safe, lacklustre existence, or delving deeper into depravity to discover what humanity is really capable of.

If anyone is interested in swapping I am happy to read, proof and critique any style, and will give honest feedback. I will print out the whole thing and then scribble all over it and scan it back to you, however you can approach mine in the way that best suits you.

Feel free to reply to this post or send me a message with any thoughts and so forth. I'm happy to exchange emails and trade in password-protected-PDFs, or Word documents, or whatever suits each person, or alternatively join the Workshop and both upload entire novels for each other to review.

I'd be happy to swap with as many as I can.

30,000 words might be a bit tough to tackle though. Also note, I'm just getting back into fiction. There was a point I thought I'd do nothing but poetry.

I'd be happy to do that.

Afternoon all.

I've had some interest, which is good. Someone has proposed a three-way. Anyone else up for that? Send me a message.
