Arist, musician and writer Sarah Davenport of Wilmington, Delaware committed to the month-to-month membership at Lit Reactor late Sunday evening after much deliberation.

Today she submitted her first short story, entitled Grandmother, for review, and humbly awaits the response of her peers.

She is new to writing fiction, and would like to pretend that she doesn't have a clue about the rules or care what people think, but that would be a lie.  "I just want to create, that's all," says Davenport.

The review board will determine her fate, should anyone be generous enough to critique her work.

But seriously sounds good, I'll give it a look-see.

Sarah emailed the story to Daniel for the Psychosis Anthology so she wants to fine tune it for submission. Perhaps we can all help her! he/I thinks.

A strange buzzing fills the room as thoughts clammer and tumble around like small spiders looking for shelter, Nicholas paces back and forth thoughtfully as Renfield examines his hands for cracks. They are all wondering what is real and what is not. How meta, Sarah thinks but realizes only you can hear her. I laugh. Who am I?  I'm the omniscient narrator.

Hello new friends, and thanks for the warm welcomes.  Looking forward to gettin' my sea legs on this crazy ship and doing some reviews once I'm acclimated.  But PLEASE do not be apprehensive about beating up the new kid.  In fact, I think I even deserve it a little since I caught some spelling and grammatical errors post-submission.  Oops.

But before you do that, let me start off with some qualifiers.  For one, I have absolutely zero experience in writing dialogue, so gotta work on that.  I also tend to be very verbose, creaming a thick, yellow discharge all over the paper, causing a heavy density in spots, so trying to get better at that.  You'll see that the tempo changes dramatically, which may help add a little anxiety to the story.  Up and down and up and down and OMG, I'm gonna vomit.

Oh, and the run on sentences.  Love these guys.  I love saying "this happened AND then this happened AND then..." to exhaust the reader (I do this in person, too.).  So, maybe I'll challenge myself to do it "your" way, or maybe not.  Whatever the case may be, I am eager to hear everyone's brutally honest feedback to assist me in reaching my full writing potential.  Thanks, mates, and take 'er easy.
